Well, then we will agree to disagree. Think what you will. I think admiring someone is sinful. Period.

...and don't EVER compare me to the Satanists that call themselves Muslim. Punk.

Name calling? Really? And, as an American, I will compare whatever I like.

The deconstructionist in me would think that everyone is a fictional character. One never portrays the depths of oneself outwardly in every interaction so when someone appreciates another person's character one is appreciating what the person purposely portrays of themselves. In terms of a fictional character, made up in literature or film, I would suspect the same is true there. I've recently read Frank Hardy's The Hard Way, his account of writing Power without Glory. The book was a fictional account of political power-broker and businessman, John Wren, who had considerable influence in Australian state politics (Victoria) and especially the Labor Party. In the book, the character John West is based on Wren. Hardy said some very interesting things about his characters, he mentioned that there were three types of characters in his stories, "real", "fictional" and "composite" characters and of his "fictional" characters he said that:
Characters – that is, people - cannot be invented, they must be based on persons drawn from real life… But no single person, as he exists, is concentrated or typical enough for literature; something must be added, something taken away. In every person there are characteristics typical of many people… Sometimes actual historical events and people will be portrayed, often composite incidents and characters…

Well, if you want an argument, then pick your topic and pick a a side, American. Let's see if you know what that idol you have as an avatar actually means. Your turn.

My "avatar" represents the 3% of the American population that actually stood up against tyranny and founded this country with blood.

And, I am always on God's side, even unto death.

Your line of thinking is fast approaching the muslim way in which women should wear the hijab to as not to cause men to lust after them.
People like to bag Muslims because of their attitudes to women but ask yourself this, how many women heads of states have there been in Muslim majority countries and how many have there been in America? ;-)

And how has that impacted the daily lives of the half billion muslim women around the world. The muslim women who have been on the receiving end of honor killings, public beheadings for no more than speaking to a male non-family member? And most of the ones listed have only occurred within the last 10-20 years. The first woman elected to the US Congress happened more than a century ago.

Instead of a measure of sin, I think the answer to the OP might better be expressed along the lines of healthy to unhealthy. If you prefer fantasy while unable to deal with trauma, it might be saving your life. But if you find yourself preferring to fantasize your books over your real spouse, I think it becomes unhealthy; or a sign of.

I don't like the modern hippy attitude which tries to avoid blaming traditional societies for these horrible abuses, because I see a lot of Muslims who are sincerely trying to get rid of this sort of sexism. My point was more lighthearted than anything though, I just find it funny that Muslims are blamed for being backwards considering the USA and its attitude to women.

My only reason for joining this forum or any other across the Internet is to cause discord and disharmony amongst it's membership. I hate all people and think you are all beneath me, so I stir up trouble just because I can. Go ahead and ban me - I won't lose a bit of sleep over it.

Again, speaks volumes.

When was the last time a woman was dragged from a beach for wearing a bikini and shot in the head by the "religion police" here in the US?

Oh you're a troll... Fair enough, have fun on your next forum. I haven't lost a lick of sleep over you calling me a Satanist.

What volumes? Come on, don't be a coward - say what you mean instead of being passive aggressive. What volumes does it speak. Do you think I care what a bunch of fake Christians think about me on some Internet message board? C'mon 3%...speak your mind patriot.

It says that you are a sad person who can only feel powerful by attacking other people. Like a child throwing a tantrum. Again, I feel sad for you.

Yeah, that doesn't happen in the USA. Nor do women get voted to become President, they get exploited in perpetual advertising which uses women's bodies to sell things. It's a different sort of sexism.

Sexism it may be, but at least it isn't state sponsored fatal sexism.
