good band, if your refering to Colony days and earlier, their new stuff isn't impressive, not at all. I don't even know if Anders Fridden is still their vocalist.

Anyway, their awsome melodic death, but what do you expect from a band who started it along with Dark Tranquility, Kreator, At the Gates and pals?

speaking of Dark Tranquility, they are the same genre and style as In Flames, but sound a whole lot better, and in their earlier days, Fridden was both their vocalists and i believe Jesper Stromblad was in both bands as well. Anyway, i suggest you check them out too if you liked In Flames

I would encourage you to read your bible daily. If any band you listen to, show you watch, video game you play goes against the Word of God, then you should remove yourself from it.

As for In Flames, I love the music. I haven't heard or read any lyrics so far that seem anti-God, or anti-Christian, so I listen to them. They actually have a lot of encouraging lyrics for tough times in life. I also listen to Dark Tranquility, Opeth(Who I'm becoming saddened by lately as a lot of they're newer albums seem to be leaning more in the direction of satan themed songs) and many others. Judge the bands based on what the Spirit tells you. If it tells you that it's wrong, then don't listen to it.

Praying for Opeth, and any other bands who claim atheism to have God convict them, and repent/restart they're lives.

They didn't start it. They just popularized it. Heartwork was the first true melodeath album. And for that matter Kreator is thrash, they had some general Gothenburg inspired riffs in some of their work though.

As for In Flames, they're sell outs now IMO. They realized you couldn't make money on death metal.

Also... wat
I dunno, I like some death metal but I prefer "melody" in power metal.
Where did power metal come into this?

In Flames is my favourite metal band of all time. I especially like the song Leeches and Crawl Through Knives, two of my absolute favourite. I don't hear any anti-God or anti-Christian lyrics in their music, although I doubt it's a Christian band by any stretch of the imagination. I agree with a poster above who said we should remove ourselves from that sort of thing when we come across it.

I love leeches and Crawl through Knives, Scream, Bullet Ride, Cloud Connected, and Disconnected. And actually there is a chance of them being Lutheran due to the fact that most of the population is Lutheran.
