Oh, I think male homosexuality is quite repulsive. That doesn't mean I think that male homosexuals should have any fewer rights than the rest of us. Seriously, even if you think it's disgusting, what does it matter, as long as they aren't doing it in front of you?Why is it that no one every asks if it is repulsive?
Ah, yes, why should the Catholic Church actually worry about how much good or bad comes from a moral decision? After all, they're killing people by the million by telling people they shouldn't use condoms. But then again the Catholic Church doesn't bow down and submit to those scales for morality either.
I think it matters to the degree that if you find it disgusting enough, then your willing to make a deal that if they leave you alone, you will leave them alone.Seriously, even if you think it's disgusting, what does it matter, as long as they aren't doing it in front of you?
They are telling people not to have sex outside of marriage. After all, they're killing people by the million by telling people they shouldn't use condoms.
Well we could talk about spiritual harm. But I know that you want real physical harm in terms of how many people homosexuality has killed.
And of course no one can make an argument for that.
But then again the Catholic Church doesn't bow down and submit to those scales for morality either.
My point was that you are trying to play against the church in a game that it is never claimed to play at: of course you will win when you set the rules. So basically, the best you can offer me is some ephemeral promises that it hurts me "spiritually" when I have never noticed anything of the sort. If it harms me, then you should be able to point to a specific thing that is harmed, mental, "spiritual," or physical.
Mark 2:27'Remembering the Sabbath' is clearly cited in the Ten Commandments also. Does that mean that people shouldn't be allowed to work on Sundays in your view?
Wherever that view of yours that not working on the Sabbath is merely a guideline, it didn't come from the Bible. The punishment for working on the Sabbath is death by stoning.Mark 2:27
Then he said to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.
You miss the intent that God has for the Sabbath. God did not mean not to take care of your family or to do that which is good on the Sabbath ... God gave the sabbath as a day of rest from work in which you would not be frowned upon for looking 'lazy' when it is the edict of God to do what "Remember the Sabbath, keep it holy." The command is to 'remember' and 'keep' . Remember to differentiate between work and handling your responsibility.
All very well, but it doesn't really answer my question. Do you think there should be LAWS relating to the Sabbath, and that they should apply to everyone, even non-Christians who neither believe in God nor care what you have to say about His intentions?Mark 2:27

"Lust is bad, m'kay."
And yet lust is incredibly natural. Its just my bodies's reaction to another person's body (probably a very fine looking person).
Lust means to long after something forbidden. It means to live in the flesh and not in the spirit. A spiritual life is not a boring life. Highly spiritual people are very zealous. Some people think it is emotionalism, but emotional expressions leave you tried. Spiritual experances recharge your batterys and your full of energy.I agree. Just like every other strong emotion, lust can have negative consequences; but I think life would be very boring without it.
As an Empath and someone who's spent time around people who have taken vows of chastity or celibacy, I notice that thier emotional discharge tend to be different than most other peoples.Lust means to long after something forbidden. John 3:6
"That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
John 6:63
"It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.
Its also human nature. It is unhealthy to long after something that is forbidden.
