Jesus says in
Matthew 22
29Jesus replied, “You are mistaken because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God. 30
In the resurrection, people will neither marry nor be given in marriage. Instead, they will be like the angels in heaven.
I prefer Luke 20
But let's start with this;
Jesus said to Pilate "Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world"
John 17:14 "I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world."
1 John 5:4
4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world:
and now Matt 22 & Luke 20
Jesus is address a group of Jews who obviously believe in eternal marriage but Jesus tells them;
"Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God"
The Jews by this time no longer had the power to bind on earth that which is bound in heaven, they had lost that long ago. They were children of the world.
34 And Jesus answering said unto them,
The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage:
35 But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:
36 Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.
Note that they are counted as children of God but not sons of God. In Mormon theology and I believe it is Biblical all men will be resurrected. By 'that world' he means Terrestrial, many will go into that world and when they do they will be equal unto angels and not be married. They will live as brothers and sisters. They will enjoy the company of Christ but they will not be in the presence of the Father.
What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder:
Mark 10:9
When God joins a man and woman he binds them in heaven, to even say till death do us part is un-biblical
Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord. 1 Cor 11:11
Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered. 1Peter 3:7
We are heirs together of the grace of life or of eternal life with God. (see Titus 3:7)
