I think that to believe that heaven is not a planet comes from the same mind set that taught that the Earth was flat. People tend to try to make spiritual things dark and mysterious. I dont mean to say that it is a physical planet that could be seen through a telescope but it is a spiritual planet and is inhabited by spiritual beings.

No, you are right. What I was thinking was that perhaps since those things mentioned in hebrews were patterned after heavenly things, perhaps this is why Copeland and Dake believed that the whole earth was patterned this way as well. Perhaps they believed that God ALWAYS wanted His will to be done on earth as it is in Heaven (Matt. 6:10). I am only guessing.

That's why I talk to people like YOU to keep my guessing straight ;)

Another reason Copeland believes this is because scriptures indicate that Heaven has a north and south, etc... For this to be, Heaven must be a sphere. It has a compass.

interesting insight... we do see the spiritual world as incorporeal and formless... it is actually a form of carnality if you think about it...

Um, to be honest i dont understand why you think it is a form of carnality to believe or just think of Heveanly places as incorporeal and formless. Would you explain it to me please? thanks!

I don't think it is carnal per se to not agree that heaven is a planet, let state that at the outset.

What I am referring to is the view that the material world is MORE real than the spiritual world. If you think about it what you are saying is that the world that we perceive with our senses (our flesh) is more vital to us than the world we perceive with our spirit.

To do this, you have to put the flesh above spirit, which is an accurate definition of carnality.
