• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Is Google the DNC's data-mining tool?

Anything within the database is information you have made public.

Anything you publish on facebook is public.

There is a difference between believing in privacy, and understanding privacy.

Except the cell phone one. I really don't see how that's legal.

Is it any different from saving the number from a caller ID?

...yes, because a caller ID doesn't go into your phone and take all the info from your address books to solicit your family and friends for business. If a company did this, they would be sued in a heart-beat.

Low Information Voter isn't a dog whistle for anything. It's a pretty standard term for people who vote but who have limited knowledge of the issues and the candidates' positions. There are many low information voters on both sides.

Although I'm sure there are LIV's in both parties, there are a much larger percentage with democratic voters.

Pew Research Center: Republicans More Knowledgeable Than Democrats (Again)

Pew quizzed 1,010 adults (including 771 registered voters) between July 26 and 29 on a series of twelve questions relating to the 2012 campaign....Namely, as referenced above, Republicans outscored Democrats on fully eleven of the twelve tests of knowledge.

Remember, we're talking about people who vote for "obamaphones" and "obamamoney".

pffft. No you don't. If you own membership cards to any store, your privacy has been farmed out and used for profit (with FAR more information than any governing party can access).

So because advertisers can buy information about me buying milk at the store, that compromises my privacy more than government databases and NSA datamining?

That makes no sense.

If you're on Facebook, forget it.

You can limit the information you put on facebook, and even put false info on there. It's also optional that you don't have to have an account, or can delete it.

There are SOOOOO many agencies out there who have managed to get your private data it's ludicrous to believe that a political party is the "only" one doing it.

Name the person who said political parties are the only one doing it. Bet ya can't.

Anything within the database is information you have made public.

Obama's campaign downloading stuff off my phone because I visited his website on it is NOT making things available to the public. It's taking private information without people's knowledge.

Anything you publish on facebook is public.

When did this topic become about facebook?

Google: The Democrat’s Private Intelligence Agency | RedState

The threat isn’t just that Google openly supports left wing politicians and policies. That’s obvious, and that relationship goes both ways. Google+ hosted Joe Biden for a “fireside chat” about gun control and Obama is doing a Google+ “hangout” immediately following his State of the Union speech tonight.

The real threat is that Google, or perhaps just a few people within the leadership of Google, may be quietly operating as a private intelligence agency for the left.

And every time you use Google or Gmail you could be contributing just a little bit more of your behavioral data to the left.

If the DNC is involved, we don't even have to confirm this is happening. Unlike Republicans, Democrats are subject to the lure of power due to their inferior morality.

If this type of thing had happened under a Republican president I assure you Republicans superior sense of ethics would have them calling for impeachment.

Trying too hard.

Trying is not required when you're naturally more informed.

That's how I know the practice of data mining started the day Obama took office. Verifying weather any of this even happened in the first place is inconsequential to the fact that liberals are unethical while conservatives would never think of doing such a thing.
