He did not say the law was bondage in that passage, but that the Sinai covenant was bondage. Hagar represents the Sinai covenant.I see what you are saying but why did Paul teach the law was bondage that the covenant on my Sinai was as Hagar ?
The context of Galatians 5 concerns seeking to be justified by the law (vs.4). The yoke of bondage is not the law, but seeking to be justified by it. Paul was coming against the wrongful use of the law, especially when it was taking the place that Yeshua rightfully held, that is, the means through which we are justified by faith. A similar misuse of the law was happening in Acts 15, but in that case they were seeking to be saved by the law, rather than justified by it.And why did he command not to be entangled again with the yoke of bondage nor be circumcised.. That to do so he was a debtor to the entire law and Christ will not be of no value to us if we do circumcised ourselves saying we will have fallen from grace in doing so?
