You are detracting the point. You believe a person engaged in a cult cannot know he is in a cult. But anyone with a sound mind can indeed escape a cult, even if he was in it.

Yes, and those persons are typically labelled heretics, apostates, blasphemers, false prophets, etc by cult members. I never said it was impossible to escape a cult.

"For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ."

"Instead, just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not to please men, but rather God, who examines our hearts."

You don't think a cult leader could say something like this?

And to say something and put something into practise is different. Paul walked the talk, that is how he gained credibility. Do you propose to know Paul more than those who were actively following him back in his days?

No, I don't propose to know Paul better than his followers. But one wonders whether his followers are unbiased in their evaluation of him.

I think Paul was a very humble and real Christian, he seemed to avoid taking any glory for himself and directed people to God, he went through trials and tribulations and seemed to remain faithful.
