Well, I think cheerleading is stupid and not a sport. So in that regard, it is immoral and an idle waste of precious time.

Now I will search the scriptures for verses about chearleading.....

If you are asking yourself if it's moral, maybe there is an issue there. Is there anything that you think is immoral about it?

Oh you didn't think you would get away with that did you? :p

As a former cheerleader and the mother of a former cheerleader I can say it is most definitely a sport. True, there is no ball involved but...it is a combination of gymnastics and dance and it takes alot of hard work. Don't knock it just because you can't see past the short skirts!! ;)

LOL. Being the kind of man that I am, with the kind of mind that I have, I'd have to say that if cheerleading is immoral, then so is ballet and Irish dance... :sorry:

Having dated a cheerleader many years ago I can also attest that it is a sport.

As to the morality of being a cheerleader, is it immoral to play baseball, or golf or football? Is it immoral to go hiking or fishing? Being a cheerleader is no less moral than any of these so go for it!

Figure skating...swimming...hahaha you bad boy!
Ah! You got me.

My wife used to teach and dance ballet. Most guys think I'm nuts when I say this, but quite frankly, the nudie, model, stripper types do nothing for me. To me they're just sl*tty.

Now Riverdance, that's some kind of p*rn. And figure skating, swimming, ballet, feis, even jazz dance... LOL

My wife was shocked when I told her I'd go the ballet anytime she wanted ;)

Cheerleading is only as moral as it's cheerleaders .

Most sports are based on a warfare type staging of " us against them " scenarios .

Pitting human being in aggression towards other human beings .

Which , if moderately done , with " good sportsmanship " , may not be immoral .

But when competition leads to surly inhospitableness , it would not appear to be moral to " cheer " such adversarial rivalry on !

" ... Praise the Lord , all ye Gentiles ; and laud him , all ye people . " <---> Romans 15:11

laud = praise - [ akin to - song ] ; acclaim , extol .

" For we wrestle not against flesh and blood , but against principalities , against powers , against the rulers of the darkness of this world , against spiritual wickedness in high places . " <---> Ephesians 6:12

But dance isn't a sport. It's not a sport for the simple fact that it's not competitive.

Don't get me wrong, I know it's very physically demanding but that doesn't make it a sport.

The mere fact that it's not competitive shows that it's not a sport.

A sport does not have to be competitive. What about hunting or fishing?

Have you never seen the dance/cheer competitions on ESPN??? It's as much a sport as gymnastics (which, last time I checked, was an Olympic event) :wave:

Even at the high school level cheer competitions are a big deal.

Anyone who can run around, doing flips and handstands for two hours during a game is definately fit. And why not, I'd rather be running around than sitting on a cold bench.

I guess it depends if cheerleading is who you are, or just one of the things you do. I think if you are only "A cheerleader" then you might end up like one of the those evil cheerleaders, but otherwise, it's cool.

Besides, everyone wants to date a cheerleader, especially one with brains (Hey, even I want to date a cheerleader - Go team Go!)
