  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Is anyone familar with Einstein's "Aspect Experiment"?

If I remember correctly, Einstein basically proved that there is more to this universe than what we can perceive. It regarded quantum mechanics; how reality describes the nature of two, interelated electrons, separted by hundreds of light-years, but still capable of instantaneous exchange of information. Einstein aparently was so baffled by his discovery that he refused to believe it. This experiment was repeated many years later with the same results.

Anyone with some knowledge of this experiment care to comment on its validity and what it means?

Thanks guys...

It wasn't Einstein's experiment and that's not what was proved. The experiment is named for Alain Aspect, who published his results in 1982.

All he proved was that quantum entanglement was not simply a measurement phenomenon. IOW the entanglement of the quantum states of two particles is real and not due to the fact that their preexisting states were simply unknown.

What does this "prove"? Simply that our understanding of the fundamental nature of matter, space, and time is still incomplete.
