Iranian hackers tried but failed to interest Biden’s campaign in stolen Trump info, FBI says​

WASHINGTON (AP) — Iranian hackers sought to interest President Joe Biden’s campaign in information stolen from rival Donald Trump’s campaign, sending unsolicited emails to people associated with the then-Democratic candidate in an effort to interfere in the 2024 election, the FBI and other federal agencies said Wednesday.​

There’s no indication that any of the recipients responded, officials said, and several media organizations who have said they also were approached with stolen material did not publish it. Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign called the emails from Iran “unwelcome and unacceptable malicious activity” that were received by only a few people who regarded them as spam or phishing attempts.​

Bravo to both campaigns for not accepting the dirt on Trump. They should be applauded.

But here is the question for this thread.

Why target the Trump campaign? I thought he was a friend to dictators? Also, what about Joe and Kamala do they prefer over Trump?

It could be an attempt to discredit the Harris campaign by sending false information, or information that would later be revealed to be stolen, and thus Harris' campaign could be accused of stealing information from Trump's camp.

Sometimes, people are deceptive about their reasons for doing stuff.

What dollars do you mean? They already got their assets returned in exchange for not developing nukes with mandatory inspections. Trump threw out the no nukes deal but neglected to negotiate anything to replace it with.

That would be quite obvious ,I dont know your age but back during the Obama administration they formed the Iran deal.A big display of weakness on our part.After Trump got in office he put a stop on that deal. Biden ,after getting elected, put the deal back on .So if you think about it , it could be very possible.They had Plans to assassinate him as well,so this wouldnt be a stretch.
