If feasible, I would advocate for the West, led by the United States, to intervene in Iran, replacing the current regime with a democratic system. However, this is easier said than done. The war in Iraq serves as a sobering reminder that such interventions can have complex and often unfavorable outcomes for all parties involved, including the West, the Arab community, and the Iraqi citizens.
I am skeptical of Bibi Netanyahu's warnings about Iran's nuclear capabilities. Since 2001, he has repeatedly claimed that Iran would finish their nuclear program within six months. While Bibi want to weaken Iran for Israel’s security, his repeated warnings may be seen as alarmist. Although Iran might be nearing the completion of their nuclear weapon, the timeline remains uncertain. We've heard these predictions from Bibi for the past 25 years.
On the domestic, we had a good negotiation and deal with Iran. However, President Trump and the GOP opposed it because it was done by President Obama, so they tore up the agreement signed by over 100 countries. President Obama’s deal with Iran may not have been perfect and might have needed more pressure on Iran, but ending it out of animosity towards him was a childish act by President Trump and the GOP.
I do not support war nor oppose it. I see it as a necessary evil that should be avoided, but if inevitable, we must act decisively with full force.
