  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A little child fears
Sheds invisible tears
Feels like dirt
Bury the hurt

Pleasure and pain
Bombard your brain
Pain and pleasure
A fleeting treasure

Conflicting emotions
Some strange notions
Drawn to darkness
Away from wholeness

So you have a plan
Gonna find a man
See what it's all about
Remove your doubt

A silent cry for help
What will develop
Did anyone hear
Who is in the mirror

I see your tears
I hear your cries
I know your fears
I understand your whys

And as I came
To comfort and hold
You ran from Me
Into the rain and cold

A failure in your eyes
A treasure in Mine
You say you've faded
I see you shine

You are weak
But I am strong
Come home little one
To where you belong

Abused become abusers
Winners become losers
Innocence is lost
How terrible the cost

Unable to feel
Unable to heal
Accepting as fate
A life second-rate

Seeking pleasure
Without measure
Giving up on love
And GOD above

Freedom is just another word
For nothing left to lose
But freedom ain't so free
When you don't get to choose

A silent cry for help
What will develop
Did anyone hear
Who is in the mirror

I see your tears
I hear your cries
I know your fears
I understand your whys

And as I came
To comfort and hold
You ran from Me
Into the rain and cold

A failure in your eyes
A treasure in Mine
You say you've faded
I see you shine

You are weak
But I am strong
Come home little one
To where you belong

Sara and Danni, my young Australian friends, thank-you!

This was a poem dealing with a complex subject. I never know how a poem will develop or where it will go. I have in the past used lines or a stanza from another poem in a poem. This is the first time I have ever used an entire poem in a poem.

I See Your Tears was written in 2000 or 2001. The "inspiration" for that poem was an Australian bible college student who was struggling with feelings of failure and unworthiness.

Actually, this is my second response to yall (Southern USA slang for you all). My first response turned out to be the post, Why GOD?

I appreciate that GOD blessed you with the words written.

.....peace.....

Wow, what a purpose your words have. What a gift. To be able to give voice to those that cannot speak it themselves. Incredible how God is using your words. May He continue to channel His grace and healing through your work.

Godspeed,
Brenda
