Introductions

Hi there! I just wanted to start a thread where we could introduce ourselves & get to know each other....

OK, I'll start!

My name is Debby (aka Andiesmama) and I live in SW Florida with my husband of almost 8 years (11/1) and our 3 year old daughter Andie (short for Andrea). You might get the impression that I'm a very proud mommy by taking a look at my avatar and siggy! We also have a 4 year old Boston Terrier, Zoe.

I'm a SAHM ever since Andie was born, before that I worked as a receptionist and billing rep for a doctor's office. I MUCH prefer being at home, though! Although I'll probably go back to part-time when she starts school, which will be before I know it.

I like to read, cross-stitch, and play word & puzzle games online. We're in the process of buying a new home...actually planning on closing in about 3 weeks! God has blessed us with this, and recently blessed my husband with a raise in salary to compensate for our increased mortgage payment. God is good!!

I'm crossrunner...42 years old.

I love to cook, travel, run (when I can), cross stitch, read and hang with my friends.

I'm a leader in my singles group (35 and up) in my church and I host a thriving small group in my home.

I am a teacher of 8 really great boys with autism. I teach in a middle school in Raleigh, NC. This is my 6th year in this classroom and my 17th year teaching special education. It is truly my calling from God.

I'm really happy and quite touched to see this forum!

My SIL just got her Master's Degree in Pediatric Speech & Language Therapy, she specializes in helping children with autism.

It takes a really special person to work with those kids....God Bless!

Hi, I am 43, married with a wonderful teenage son and a sweet 10 year old daughter. I am involved in youth ministry which is just the best and it keeps me young! I waitress, work in catering, and do a bit of bookkeeping. Blessings to all you 40 somethings

I'm Hope (at least here on CF ). I am a 40 yr old Australian and I think this forum is a great idea.

I have 3 beautiful daughters 14, 12 & 8. My husband left unexpectedly 5 months ago after 20 years of marriage. Think I'm still in shock but have seen the awesome faithfulness of God to me and my children during this time.

Apart from being a newly single mum I am studying for a Bachelor of Counselling. (what a way to get life experience huh ) I love what I am learning and pray that God will be able to use all I have been through and am still going through for his good and perfect purposes.

I am looking forward to getting to know you all through this forum. I joined CF after my husband left and have found it has been a source of encouragement for myself and a place where I can encourage others.

I'm from Canada, mother of three teenagers. Our son is a 2nd year University student in our city and our 18-year-old daughter's flight leaves tomorrow morning for her University which is 3,000 miles away. Our 15-year-old daughter entered Grade 10 this year. I am a widow; my husband died of cancer ten years ago. Today would have been our 29th wedding anniversary.

Hi,
I'm 44, divorced, deaf nurse. Live with 20 yr old son and 73 yr old mom.

With my church family am director of Nursing Fellowship and help with deaf ministry. Hobbies include, arts and crafts of all kinds, and soon will be learning taxidermy for educational purposes.

Very happy to see this forum for us mid-life people. Looking forward to get know you all....

Since I'm the stinker than instigated this 40-something spot o heaven I figure I had better introduce myself also.

I'm Chris, I'm 43 married to Jim, Mom to two boys 15 and 14. We live on a farm in NW Wisconsin where we mainly crop hay, raise beef cattle and I raise horses. I would guess I could say I am a wahm since I do the farm work, just get no pay for it. I recently became a rural mail carrier as a substitute so the hours are few but I really do enjoy it and wouldn't mind taking on more in the future.

I enjoy drawing and painting and that is one thing I've really taken up since turning 40. I do three group shows a year and sell on eBay.

I also enjoy blogging. It'll be fun when I can start adding pictures to my blog here on CF.

Lifelong loves are photography, writing snailmail penpals, the outdoors, horses/animals and art.

I don't know what I want to be when I grow up but I do know I'm on the right path!

thanks. it doesn't really bother me to be turning 40. I did expect to be furthur ahead on some of my goals and not so heavy(more athletic) at this stage of my life. I was watching this power 90 infomercial the other night and the guy who started it started when he was 44. So I guess it is not impossible at least in theory that I could recapture some of my former activity level.

Ben, we may not be able to recapture our youth but we can strive to be the best we can be. Sometimes it is just such darn hard work though, . I've decided 44 is MY year and have a month to get to get prepared. But with God's help I will do it!

This seems like the forum that fits me well! I'm 42, have a husband, 2 kids, age 8 and 9. Married for 11 yrs. I have four dogs but one died just this morning! I live in a rural area, 90% muslims in this particular state alone. I'm a chinese christian lady. I don't think anyone can guess which country I'm at! Take a guess.

I'm a homemaker. I teach English (part-time)to the rural kids here. Getting in touch with this CF helps me to keep up with my English. Most of the folks here do not speak or converse in English, although this language is taught in schools.

Well, so much for now.
