  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I'd suggest whatever beads that mean something to you.

Typically, an Anglican rosary's four cruciform beads as well as the invitatory bead are larger than the others, so you might want to consider that. It isn't a requirement, although unless you space them so they stand out, it may make reciting the rosary more difficult.

Best of luck!

I've cooled off, and learned to use some of the features of the board to filter trouble.

I like your little picture PV. How'd you get that? I prayed the rosary today for the first time in 15 years.

Brian

That sounds lovely. I often pray the rosary. Probably not often enough, though, thinking about it. :sorry:

Yes it is. I still own two rosaries, both of which I made. I used to make large numbers of rosaries to give away. If I were to make some Anglican Rosaries, is there anything construction/design-wise that differs from Marian Rosaries? I noticed no centerpiece, which isn't a problem. Are oval beads good? Would it look right if all the beads were the same size and shape? Is it unheard of to have a centerpiece (I saw a nice looking St. Benedict medal centerpiece)? Are the chains between the groups of beads and the individual beads supposed to be short? I am thinking 5x7mm brown cocoa beads with a brown wood inlaid crucifix would be a nice first one to make. Interested in seeing a pic of one of my rosaries I made back in the early 90's?

I have lots of rosaries, none of which is Anglican, except in the sense that they are mine, and I am Anglican, so I wouldn't worry. Use whatever works for you.

It would be good to see a picture, though.

Now that's what I call a rosary. Never mind the Anglican ones, these are the ones to make.

Why did you stop making them, if you don't mind me asking? I know why I stopped painting; I found a new church that needed sewing more than pictures, so I got the sewing machine out. I always intend to paint again, but never quite get there.

One of these days ...

Beautiful rosary. Personally I wouldn't worry too much about Anglican rosaries too much, though that's perhaps because they're a custom i've never come across outside the US. However I do think they add an unnecessary layer of complication to things. After all, if you have a problem saying the hail mary then there's nothing to stop people using something like the Jesus prayer instead. I think seeing both Roman Catholics and Anglicans using the set of beads is a powerful witness to the unity of the God's church.

Brian,
Regarding the claims of hard wired in your OP...
Major study: changing sexual orientation is possible | LifeSiteNews.com

Sure there are studies and testimonies that claim otherwise, but there are studies and testimonies that show it is possible and we have God's word that it is (ie 1 Cor 6)

Perhaps you could consider this in future posts and threads... its your testimony and feelings as opposed to other's testimony and feelings with God's word

All things are lawful, but not all things are helpful.

Good luck with that.

Sorry TomUK but I think it was all back on track..
ie "Regarding the claims of hard wired in your OP..."

No, you really don't need to address every comment that someone makes that takes us off the topic of the OP. We can see a side road when we pass it by, but that is why we drive past - it is a diversion from the route we are on.

In this case one we all get dragged down on a regular basis and are tired of, whatever interest it might have held at one time.
