  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It's great to find this part of CF.

I have been married for 23 years. We have one son who is 20.

My husband and I were both raised in the church but neither of us were truly converted.

In 1997 the Lord saved me. He opened up my blind eyes and gave me a new heart. My whole world changed. I so wanted my husband to experience what I was experiencing.. but that has yet to happen.

I am praying for him to be saved. My son and I are both believers and it makes us really close. In many ways my husband feels left out.

The struggle I have on a daily basis is how to relate to my husband in a positive way without the benefit of the spiritual connection that I so desperately desire.

Sometimes I am so sad about it. I have been praying for over 9 years. My husband has many good qualities but he is not interested in spiritual things and this continually breaks my heart.

That is about the same timing as my return to a Christian walk and the children all shortly after.
I often forget how left out my husband must feel.

My name is Chaunna. As a child I always believed in God and went to church. I have been married for 20 years this coming June. We have four beautiful Children together and one step son in college. I was saved during the pregnancy of my first child back in 1988. Never really started a personal relationship with God until 1993 and thats when my life really started going uphill. I have put my trust in God through thick and thin in good and bad and have not regreted a minute of it. I know my husband believes in God, I would say that he is definately in the seeking/searching stage (privately I may add). Which of course is a good thing.

I have been saved for 5 1/2 years, married for 17. 2 girls, 16 (yikes) and 14. The 14 year old is moderately mentally handicapped (an easy gift to see from God, everything is a gift, I just am not there yet).

I sell hardware items to Home Depot.

Keep buying stuff people, my wife is rennovating the house.

Our relationship has taken a huge step forward as I have quit trying to save her and have trusted the Lord to do it.

This forum is a great blessing.

Hi! I'm Mary Ann. Married 17 years and Mom to 3 teens. I was raised in an awesome nondenominational church that disbanded the same year my parents divorced. That led to going my own way during my teen years and a few more past that! I felt there was no way God could love me after all I had done. And even if He could love me, I wasn’t sure I wanted Him to, after what He let me go through. (That’s another part of my history.)

I was so stubborn and rebellious! God got my attention after moving us to no mans land and after I had the kids. Being a Mom gave me a whole new perspective about what love is. : )

DH was an alcoholic which prompted me to start an Al-Anon group where we lived since there wasn't one. One of the miracles in my life is that God orchestrated it so that each member of this group was a Bible believing Christian. This particular group was the catalyst that started me back to Him.

Growing up, DH went to a Methodist church with his Mom until he was about 12. Then he was given a choice – to stay home and do breakfast dishes (for 10 people) and help clean the chickens they'd have for dinner, or go to church. He chose the dishes and chickens. Sometimes he would help his Mom take care of the church during the week. He tells me she’d be smoking while cleaning the sanctuary. There was no religion at home. Church was somewhere you went, like going to the store – not a way of life.

DH quit drinking heavily about 8 years ago. He's gone to church with the kids and I occasionally. He doesn’t seem to care what I do as long as I don’t try to force anything on him. He’s comin’ around though. I caught him reading his Bible last week.The one he got for Christmas last year.

The hardest thing has been parenting. I try to teach the kids to be careful what they see and hear and then DH comes in swearing and watching garbage on TV that the kids can see. I try to teach the kids Godly manners and morals and DH teaches them about his worldly views.

And we moved last year so I now work Sunday mornings. I can’t find a protestant church that has Sunday or Wednesday evening services. So the kids aren’t going to church right now. We homeschool and Bible study is part of that so they are still being taught. But we really need to find a church.

Some days are still a challenge in our home but I found that if I give each day to God, He takes care of everything. It’s when I try to take control that times get rough.

That’s about sums it up! Looking forward to getting to know youns!

Childhood history can change so much. It has grown me into the woman I am now, doubts and all. It has taken me away from the Lord and brought me back again.

It is a praise that you see some differences in your husband. I do pray that you find a church home soon.

Hi,

My name is Jamie and I'm 23 yrs old. I have a 2 yr old son and I'm engaged to be married, although I'm not sure when that will be because times are tough right now and we had to use are wedding money for bills .

Anyways I was saved about four months ago. I was on the internet looking at some conspiracy websites cuz I used to be into the whole alien thing lol and I some how came across a website about sin and how I needed salvation and it broke me and I ended up asking for forgiveness.

My life has completely changed, not that long ago I was constantly going out, drinking, smoking, and lieing to my fiance, now the thought of doing any of those things makes me sick to my stomach. God is so amazing and I'm so thankful to him every day for saving a terrible undeserving person like me.

Since giving my life to christ I've pretty much lost all the friends I did have and I'm hoping to make some new ones on here
