In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

hi all!

I'm Henk-Jan Lammers, 31 years old from the netherlands.

I am pleased to find these forums as they seem to be respectfull and open-minded.

A little bit about myself:
I used to work as a manager in a supermarket but I discovered that the work wasn't very satisfying for me. Now I'm a student again.... I'm studying nursing at HAN university in Nijmegen (a bachelor course). I really like doing it and i'm looking forward to the day that I can start working as a nurse.

My main hobbie is gaming... board games, roleplaying games (D&D), and computer games. I also like reading a lot.

I go to church about once a month. I'm finding it a bit hard to relate to the other people in the church in the place where I live, as they are mostly older and we do not share a lot of interests. so it's nice to find these forums and get in touch with more people.

the main reason that registered here is that I was impressed with the open atmosphere in some of the threads I've been reading. I like it... and hope to participate in it.
