I'm JohnD70X7. Been a believer since 1967 when in kindergarten the LORD came to me and I knew I was his ever since. Found out nearly 47 years later what a Godly teacher I had then...
Ruby Maggard - Obituary
I have been a student of the Holy Spirit in God's Word for considerably less time than I have been a believer. In 1987 I began searching the scriptures, having learned from the founder of the Christian Research Institute (Dr. Walter Martin) that there are in fact answers in the Bible and that it was not subject to human interpretation as it seemed to be.
I had an online apolgetics ministry for a few years having had little success in the real world. And I found myself gravitating towards believers who want to know the truth about what God says in his Word (rather than what they took someone else's word for, or simply wanted to believe despite any evidence to the contrary). I have found spiritual hard heads frustrating and a waste of time... So going on the Lord's advice, I shook the dust from my robes of such futile pursuits.
I have been married to the love of my life for 40 years. Ask me sometime and I'll fill you in on the details of how and where we met, fell in love, and married. I have been pressed to write a book or a play / movie about it. I am an amateur screenwriter... having discovered that format relatively late in life. I fancied myself a novelist (but bogged down a few pages into any effort). I also spent decades believing it interfered with my devotion to God and his Word / my ministry.
Which... I have not abandoned, but took stock of the success / lack thereof. ← Perhaps my "calling" to that ministry was self inflicted. So I maintained a presence online at various forums and went into screenwriting. Submitted several scripts to Star Trek (J.J. Abrams ← who I once drove in the limo business), Christopher Nolan (Interstellar II), Greg Berlanti (Supergirl TV) and Zack Snyder (adapted my Supergirl scripts for a stand alone Supergirl movie). None of my scripts got picked up, but several of my ideas were "borrowed" ← which I assumed they might be so I only showed them the ones I considered expendable. Point being, my ideas were good enough to steal. And I didn't even show them the good ones.
If you are interested I did make several videos to promote my scripts. This being my favorite:
A mock up of a movie's opening (so it's a bit long about 8 minutes) and the names are randomly picked. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0fbYHOZhoE&feature=youtu.be
Bringing Christian influence back into entertainment industries like Hollywood became a goal of mine uniting with the likes of Dean Cain, Patricia Heaton, and others...
Thank you for allowing me to join your community.
God bless.
