I'm finding the pace a bit plodding, but the scope and scale, plus the casting of Matt Settle (Spiers from Band of Brothers) led me to tune in. I'm really enjoying it, and will watch the next five weeks as the story plays out.
For me, the ultimate whites/Native Americans narrative was the movie Little Big Man, but Into The West is proving to be pretty good at exploring the magnitude of America's expansion west of the Rappahanock in six times the length of that movie.
The last replay of the opening episode just ended on TNT, but and encore episode airs as I hit post. If you think you might find it interesting... tune in.
