I'm sorry Godslass. It seems your question was skipped. But, I would be glad to answer it.

My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2 Cor. 12:9

Because Life is full of lessons, and not many of them are a walk in the park. But, the Lord's grace is sufficient for me to get me through them...and I'll be stronger, and made more perfect in Christ, through my weaker times if I let the power of Christ work within me.

Welcome to the forum by the way Godslass. I hope you'll like it here.

I'll reiterate my question for the next poster:
How often to you speak to your grandparents?

Thanks BT,

Yes, I'm enjoying the forum immensely, but have been a bit tied up of late, and engrossed in discussions of a 'deeper' nature for a while ...

You really are a woman after my own heart, quoting a humdinger of a verse like 2 Cor 12:9

My apologies everybody, for interrupting your q and a thread!! (but Bt doesn't have a guestbook or emailing option).

I've just found the note you sent me a few days back :doh:and wanted to respond ...

'The joy of the Lord is my strength' ... this is such an awesome verse which describes the amazing power and ability of God to strenghten us and help us keep going in very difficult circumstances, and to hold onto our hope and a persevering spirit (both which are gifts from Him). I have experienced His incredible, intervening help in the form of feelings of deep JOY  which was especially helpful when I went thru a very difficult time which lasted quite a few years - I had difficulties with going out and meeting people.

I spent days, weeks and months on my own (in between some visits from my family and friends) and I don't know how I could have coped with this isolation, apart from God's giving me, at times, this very deep joy (which wasn't based on my circumstances, that's for sure!) It kept me strengthened and full of hope most of the time (!) and able to get thru one day at a time, week after week, month after month.....

That's a great idea to start a new thread all about how us singles (and non singles) can find the help and encouragement that we need, especially in the difficult times - I might just do this :D

Blessings,

GL

Ps My grandparents aren't around anymore, so no talks with them :) I attended both of their funerals (in Austria), and found the experience quite painful (obviously), and .... the incense which was used (they were Catholics) a bit nauseating, to say the least!

Next Q: Has God ever intervened, supernaturally in your life, and if so- what did He do?

Yes. He confirmed His will by clearly answering my questions and sending "the peace that passes understanding" and great joy in obedience when I followed His direction.

(BTW: Budding Thorn does have an FTB thread if her PM box is full.)

What are you seeking from the Lord today?

I can't see that far into the future.

If you could go back in time and change one thing in your life, what would it be?
I'm goin thru quite a painful time right now, of grieving for my beautiful 'best friend' and hamster (that you can see) Toty died just before Xmas, as a result of my feeding him an unsuitable 'treat' that caused him to choke and die

I'd give anything and everything, to be able to turn the clocks back to 20 Dec and not make that very heartbreaking mistake ever again!!!!!

Sorry to go all serious on you! :sorry:

M

Um ... tell us about the funniest experience you've ever had.

This is the funniest recent thing. The local dollar store had a large supply of necklaces for sale. The pendant on the necklace was a Buddha statue, the pendant was suspended from a leather thong.

What was your scariest recent experience.

I just had this happen.

I was sitting in the livingroom in an IM with other staff. When suddenly the front door opened. (No one there)

I got up and when I touched the door knob the door was locked. (We don't use the front door we always go through the garage because I don't like dirty shoes on the livingroom carpet).

I shut the door and pulled really hard and it stayed shut and it was locked.

I sat down and was telling my staff buddies about it when about thirty mins later the door flew open again (again , no one there).

At this point I kind of felt freaky. (I was a alone, my husband is overseas right now so I live alone right now.)

So I moved the sofa that is near the front door over to block the door with the sofa and noticed a draft in the window behind that sofa... and noticed that the window was open.

Then I checked... every window in the house was unlocked except the one in the bedroom! I am very particular about windows and keep them locked year round!

Question: If you decorate for Valentines day when do you put the things out?
