Knock, Knock...
Who's there?
Banana.
Banana who?
Knock, knock...
Who's there?
Banana.
Banana who!?
Knock, knock...
Who's there!?
Orange.
Orange who?
Orange you glad I didn't say banana again? :D

I know...it's silly...but, it's the only knock, knock joke I can ever remember.

Do you do things right away? Or are you more of a procrastinator?

I believe that God answers the prayers of Christians who are not holding onto unconfessed sin. But, that the answers are not always yes, but can also be no, or wait. So it can be hard to tell the difference between God answering, and God not listening. God has answered many of my prayers. So, I should have just said Yes. I just feel disconnected from God at the moment. And it's hard to get through. Especially considering my beliefs and my background.

How has God effected your life?

OK, I don't have children, but I have potential step-children. That potentiality has made me realize how much we have to show our kids by example what it means to lead a godly life and to be a godly husband.

Now so that someone else with kids can answer...
How has having children changed your relationship with God?

Especially times that my daughter has been away I've depended on God to watch over her and return her safely. We both used Ps. 121:8 a lot when she went from Arkansas to Australia a few years ago. "The Lord keeps watch over you both as you come and go; now and forever." That was her first time on an airplane AND that far away from home (for 3 months).

I know it may be hard to pick just one....but what scripture is especially meaningul to you?

Sure, I turned down a job in Tennessee when I met Sara because I wanted to stay here and get to know her better. I'd also be willing to be the "trailing spouse" if she had a great career opportunity in another state.

How many different places have you lived?

My last job that I resigned after 10 years in the corporate world was the strangest one of all. The reason why is because the people in that particular manufacturing plant were so dysfunctional that they were almost a communist community. I drew the line and resigned when they wanted to control who I can and can't have lunch with..and also who I can socialize with. Basically they wanted me to eat lunch and talk to coworkers who had college degrees only. My boss was so arrogant that he looked down upon hourly and non-college employees. Never mind about productivity and doing a good job...the boss didn't care about that. The only thing that mattered was fitting into the country club and being a brainless robot. I did the right thing and resigned. In retrospect, I should have resigned from that company after 3 years working there when the politics actually started. But better later than never...I'm just glad I moved on with my life and never looked back! God has blessed me abundantly since then and I have no regrets.

What's the best decision you ever made so far?
