What is everyone's view on interracial dating?

im guyanaese and my bf is st lucian.... even though we are considered african americans neither of us are american. i think interracial dating is fine. God had no limits and he will not limit you to just one race. thats what i think.

Before we are e.g. Americans or Ethiopians, we are the Children of the most high God regardless of how we look. God did not create us as whites, blacks, browns etc, He created us to His likeness. Man created those epithets. If God created us all, why should be put up boundaries between us?!

The reason that I was asking is because I live in the South, and my boyfriend is black and I am white. Here there are many people that are prejudice, and I was just trying to see if there were more opinions out there.

Well, for one, very much encourage interracial relationships and if I were president, I'd make interracial marriages an international law and anyone caught violating that law would most definately be held accountable!


*ahem* Now that I've had my clown moment; there's absolutely nothing wrong with interracial relationships and anyone that thinks otherwise is a complete knucklehead.

Sis I know what you mean. I have sometimes commented that I would have no problem dateing a person of another race and well lets just say that didn't go over well with my parents. I once had a friend in high school and he told his parents he was going to date an african american girl and his parents got so upset so then her turned it on them he said would you rather me date an african american girl or a white guy. Lets just say his parents attitude changed very very quickly after that one. LOL

You know I just realized something the bible says that when God created man he made them Male and Female he never at anytime seperated them by race and if he doesn't who are we to.

Like only African Americans can carry sickle cell anemia. How would it affect a child who is, say, both Spanish and African American?

And let's not forget how media views AIDS as a African American disease.

As far as sickle cell goes, it is a racial thing. LOL, I even had my Anatomy & Physiology intructor ask me if anyone in my family has sickle cell.......in front of the whole class since the lesson of that day were sickeness and how they affect the body.

I come from a Interacial Marriage. I'm asian and american so im fine with interrical dating becase my bf is american ( white) the only problem is culture issues. and there is nothing wrong with black and white relationships either my mom is no dating a black man and most of my friends date african americans. To me every one is equal and it shoudnt matter about skin color.

Cultural differences should be considered, but don't have to make-or-break a realationship.
There can be cultural differences without different skin colour, too....

According to Psychology, most people are naturally attracted to people who have similiar physical characteristics. It's a 0.9% correlation, which anyone who knows what a correlation is knows that 0.9% is extrodinarily high [the closer to 1% the closer the correlation]. This is why I am attracted to women of brown hair and brown eyes. I don't have any issues with inter-racial dating, but I'm just not attracted to women of different races the way that I am attracted to women of my own race [hispanic girls mainly].

And there's nothing wrong with having preferences. Even though I'm all for interracial relationships/marriages, I have a bigger attraction to asian men than any other race of men.
