I read the scriptures expecting God to speak to me in a unique and individual way. Nothing against church pioneers of the past, but that was their experience, I want my own.

Hi. Sometimes people interpret scriptures without the guidance of the holy spirit and they end up getting it wrong. Like the guy that started the snake handling cult.There are so many different interpretations of the same scriptures that we often can't judge the true meaning for ourselves.So...what we have to do is pray and ask the Lord for guidance and a better understanding.That's what I do.Peace.

Do you mean Wesley had a particular way of interpreting scripture that was unique, and if we use this same technique?
