  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Interpretation, please!

Hmmm... I probably wouldn't read to much into it. Maybe they know that they have a busy week ahead of them and may not be able to e-mail you much so they are just trying to wish you a good week in case they can't e-mail for a few days.

I think it's natural to assume a bad meaning and in reality they may not have meant anything at all except a friendly way to end the e-mail. :)

Thanks, D. (Or should I say, "Ms. CF"? ;)) It's true, it's easy to let fear take hold and envision the worst instead of the best. Is that human nature or merely a pessimist's nature?

I remember wondering the same thing when talking with a church friend over the phone during the week. She'd end it by saying, "Talk to you Sunday!" and I wondered if that meant she didn't expect to talk with me any time before then. lol. Guess I haven't changed much. :D

I think I'm going to email the person back anyway. :amen:

When you've been emailing someone almost daily for awhile, what do you make of it when they say, "Have a good week" at the end of their email? Do you take it to mean they don't wish to continue emailing you so frequently?
This is so me...... I hope that doesn't scare you.

That's awesome!

Yeah I think so too! I didn't make it up, don't know where I heard it or read it, but I was at Bible Study last night and we were looking in Romans and I had that on a post it in there. Thought it was fitting given the conversation above :D

Yes, I would definitely e-mail the person back...and then leave it up to them to respond or not depending on their schedule.

And I think it's partly human nature to assume the worst...but maybe just a bit more amplified in a pessimist :D

I agree with this. then, too, if your not sure they dont want to email as much, just ask them.

I hadn't said anything till now, waiting for someone to say what I was thinking. Thanks Bridgit!

I wonder if the sign-off on his/her email msg was something they usually gave to others, and out of habit signed the one to you the same way, Jenster.

I guess I wonder if they emailed "have a good day", are you going to worry if you miss a day?

I guess if they said something like, I'll be pretty busy so if I don't respond right away, you'll know why, and Have a Happy New Year, then I might wonder :p
