First sorry if this is in the wrong forum. I couldn't find a forum that particularly fit this subject so move as is necessary
Im currently about to enter my first year of seminary. Now for a long time I have felt called to full time ministry, when I tell people this they often ask me what type of full time ministry that I feel called to do. As I said I feel strong about my call but Ive often answered with "God hasnt told me yet, but probable along the lines of Pastoral ministry."
Now up until January I and my wife were living in South Korea teaching English for a time where we got involved in an English speaking International church there. In case anybody isnt familiar, International Church or Expat Churches are to reach out to Christians living away from their home countries. They consist not just of native speakers but in many cases use English as an international language to reach Christian internationals and non Christian internationals in non English countries from Europe, South America, Asia, and Africa ect. And are often led by Pastors from native speaking English countries.
Over the months we were in Korea we learned how beautifully different and yet the same churches like these can be, In providing a Christian community for Christians abroad but enabling out reach to expats going though the challenges of living overseas, and the beauty of worship from people of many skin colors languages ect yet sharing the same amazing God.
We have been hope from Asia for about 4 months now and slowly I feel that Gods call for my full time ministry may be live overseas and Pastor an international congregation. Its something Ive realized that I have a strong passion for. I know that this type of ministry is not incredible common and there are few resources for somebody interested in this type of ministry.
I guess I wanted to get other opinions and perspectives, do you think this is a legitimate ministry opportunity? Also anyone that is familiar with anything know of any resources about this?
