....That JUST went into place not a month ago.

That is so weird. So they are an offshoot of the SDA church? Their calender is very hard to figure out. The Sabbath is on a different day each week? Or it moves around month to month? Did the Jews supposedly do this way back when? Did Jesus rest on a Sabbath that moved around or was it the same day every week?

You basically have 15 million people fighting over 144,000 spots. You may be in the exclusive remnant church, but you still have to be the cream of the crop to obtain salvation!

I don't think SDA's buy into the 144k thing....

There is a direct correlation between how hardcore an Adventist you are and how likely you are to believe in a literal 144k. I don't think EGW takes a firm position on it, so there is a wide range of opinion.

My SDA church, SDA grade school, and how I was raised SDA does not follow any limit on the number of people who can be saved. Why wouldn't God want all of his children saved anyway? I am familiar with it from learning about other churches, but it is not a SDA doctrine that I am aware of.

Sorry I have not read anything about the IDL change, I just wanted to comment on the limit.

yeah, I remember that too...

We had those who were deep into EGW, vegans and stuff, kinda seemed looking down upon newcomers, making them realize who climbed up the latter...

but even among those were disputes and divisions...

I knew one guy who was very heartless, even beat up his wife from time to time if she disagree with his agenda, in the end they got divorced...

the most interesting thing was that he always claimed to be the only true believer in the local congregation, that was because many people had different opinions on certain matters...

in retrospect, I regret having wasted my time with them... cause you dont get to know people right away, it takes time... precious time...

WLC is doing a wonderful service in bringing these things to light.

I find it a bit ironic that these references are mostly being brought to attention on this particular board by a Roman Catholic, given what is believed about that church by SDA.

Generally - what I believe about this, and other related information is:

Ellen does say that 144,000 in number. However, that 144,000 are those who will be "translated" at the end of time. Those who will not see death. They will have gone through the one year period after the close of probation and live without sin. The rest who would not be able to go through that time will have been put to sleep prior to Christ's coming.

Sorry for coming off so harsh Kira... what makes you think the prison ministry guy is advocating for Worlds Last Chance? maybe I missed something but I went to his site and it's just a prison ministry website. The guy is actually doing a wonderful work in reaching these men... Jesus would be pleased with this one.
