Those poor deceived people. How sad that is. Where in the bible do we see such 'spiritual nonsense'?

It's like those statues that bleed or run oil. Is God behind idols?

Oh that they would know the truth of God's laws--then satan could never get a handle on their minds.

This is exactly why I've always cringed when people tell me the state of the dead isn't a "salvation issue".

You have to know the truth to be able to discern these miracles. Mary isn't talking to anyone, let alone telling them that she wants another shrine built for herself.

These visions usually mention a shrine or having statues of her in homes, etc. And you're right, God has nothing to do with idols. This Myrna keeps giving all glory to Mary, not Christ.

So while I don't doubt that there are "visions", if they don't point to Christ then I can quit discerning at that point.

In my short life time I have seen spiritualism blossom to the point that it is no longer novel anymore. From the majority of T.V. programs to actual manifestations like this that makes the news. Satan, has stepped up his effort to make the whole world believe that once you die you don't really die but go to an altered state of consciousness.

I thought it was kind of neat the way this was discribed by Pastor Kenneth Cox on 3abn not too long ago. He said, if I stepped out in the street and got hit by a truck and was taken to the hospital in critical condition with brain damage. Would I know anything while I was in the hospital? Do folks in a coma know anything? Well, we can debate that but generally we accept they don't know what is going on around them. So he lies there for a few months in a vegitative state until one day he dies. Now he knows everything, does that make any sense?

Ecc 9:5 "For the living know that they shall die but the dead know not anything."

Ps.146:4 " His breath goeth foward, he returneth to his earth: in that very day his thoughts perish."

Ps 115:17 "The dead praise not the Lord neither do any that go down into silence."

Job 14:10-12, 14-15" But man lieth down and wasteth away, yea man giveth up the ghost and where is he? As the waters fail from the seas and the flood decayeth and drieth up: So man lieth down and riseth not till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake nor be raised out of their sleep.
If a man die shall he live again? All the days of my appointed time will I wait till my change come
Thou shalt call and I will answer thee, thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands. "

Pretty straight foward truth, wouldn't you say?

Remember truely deceived folks don't know that they are deceived. The position one takes on this can make a huge difference in the near future on being deceived. If folks really believe that this is Mary the mother of Christ she could tell them anything and they would accept it.

God Bless

You have to give Satan his credit on this one. He's really masterminded a good deception. "Thou shalt not surely die" To comfort children they tell them that Granny has gone to heaven ~ so why would they be scared if "Granny" visits them.
The concept has become so normal/common I think people believe in it without really giving it any thought.

I agree, I think one of the fundamental reasons this lie has been so successful is part of the nature of man. God did not create man to die and no sane person that is not in agonizing pain wants to die. Death is foreign to man's psyche and cherished desires. All thru out history man has sought immortality in ways that are unimagineable. Believe it or not there are still folks today that are seeking to become immortal by other than divine means. If you doubt this do a google on how to become immortal and see what pops up. I have been on both sides of this belief and I can tell you that the majority of the world believes that man has an immortal soul that is a separate entity from the physical body.

Advantage satan? Think about it.

God Bless you all,

State of the dead isn't a salvation issue. It does, however, really help you keep out of some serious traps of satan. Unlike IJ (reference to another thread), it does a lot of good in the lives of Christians that accept it (Versus those who don't).

Can we stay on topic without poking jabs at other people's remarks in other threads please?

How is it a jab or a reference to any other person's remark in another thread?

It is a reference to my own point, which I stated (not someone else) in another thread.

Please don't accuse me of what I haven't done.

thanks,
JM

The state of the dead is part of the framework for how we view human nature. Whether you believe that the soul is immortal and will live on after death, or that the soul will die with the body, has great implications for how we view many issues. I think, though, that God is much bigger than the state of the dead issue, and there will no doubt be people ressurected at the second coming who will be quite confused by what is going on.

State of the dead is important, and is related to the issue of salvation (eg, Hell) but it is not a condition for salvation.

JM, it's a distraction. This thread is about the state of the dead, not the IJ.

DrStupid_Ben, I agree that it's not a condition of salvation. However, Christ told us not to be deceived. Of all the biblical fairytales I've seen being spread around, the state of the dead really is the one I think will affect the most people in the shortest amount of time.

Unless people realize that Mary, their own parents, children they may have lost, etc are not going to communicate with them at all until the last trump, there's an open door for deception.

If your dead child suddenly appeared telling you that you had to join God's true church (not the body of Christ, but "the church"), it would be a very difficult thing to ignore even knowing the truth. Without the truth it would be impossible.

It's pretty frightening that "Mary" keeps telling people to put statues of her in their homes or build shrines for her. The frightening part is that people are doing it, even though there's ample scripture against it.

A lot of the people arguing about this in GT totally see it as bogus, but not one (at least when I was in there) mentioned it's bogus because Mary couldn't communicate with anyone.

I think visions of dead people are going to start becoming a lot more common, and we'll have to hold on tightly to scripture to keep from falling for it. The miracles are going to get better and better too.
