Hey all, I just had a thought which intrigued me alot. Have any of you ever thought maybe one of the people posting on these forums whom you're asking advice from could be the very person you need advice with?

Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You mean a scenario like in "You've Got Mail"? In that movie she was asking him for advice because she was losing her business - and he was the one responsible for the loss of her business. Well, in the movie it had a happy ending.Raanan said:

Ditto! I know I can talk about one of my "issues" cause he doesn't have a computer and if he does have access to one he isn't puter literate! He's wanting a computer for Christmas and if he gets one...this is not a site I'll be sharing with him!!!!
But seriously, when I am talking about things I keep it as vague or general as possible and never mention names. I'm also prepared to discuss it with the concerned party should they ever come across the discussions.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was thinking though my vivid imagination tends to be on the less happy side of things. I forgot about You've Got Mail though. I like that movie. I should watch that again.carmi said:

well my boyfriend used to get on here, but not really anymore... it's okay if he sees what i post... and everyone else i'd talk about (don't really ask for advice about people on here) is definitely not a member here

Yeah i'm still struggling as to whether to introduce this forum to my fellowship, as most of my friends are computer-literate. Maybe I should talk to my fellowship leader about it.
