Interesting Situation.

An interesting situation has just arisen. I asked a few questions in the Traditional section and certain members of that sub-forum reported me for violating forum rules. That was their privilege. The moderator contacted me and asked that I should no longer post there. That's fine with me. He then informed me that he would be removing my posts from the Traditional forum and I can't argue with that. But he went on to suggest that I should report any violations I observe to him.

This presents a problem because I know of a self-identified Traditional who has done most of her/his (I don't recall at the moment) posting in the Progressive sub-forum. What happens if all of that poster's posts are removed from the Progressive sub-forum as the Traditional would have it? What happens to the discussions/debates he/she has had with Progressives?

We're really not supposed to discuss moderator actions in the open forum.

However, let me say this....unless someone stirs up trouble in another forum, there really isn't anything to report, right?

Woob comes into the Traditional forum a lot and has never once caused problems. I've been accused of not really being a Traditional, but I've never once debated in that forum or caused problems.

It really just depends on the situation at hand.

Sent, you really need to read the rules. LOL

That's the point, T&O. I wa not stirring up trouble. I asked two innocent questions. I had no intention of debating. This other person deliberately chose to debate in another forum.

I was not questioning the actions of the mod. The mod did as was expected.

Sentipente, I don't agree with your posting in the Traditional subforum, whatever your reasons. It only causes more problems on top of the ones we are already dealing with.

How are we going to expect any of them to respect our boundaries if we don't respect theirs? :(

I always thought that the rule was that non-members of the forum cannot debate but they can ask questions. But that is not the issue. The issue is what do I do with this Trad who has debated in the Prog area?

You say that you asked innocent question, but come on man. You have to admit that they were questions that would stir up some trouble. I really hope you can see why the question you asked was like that. if not, then perhaps that is another reason to not really post in the traditional forum.

I have no idea what questions you read. If you think they would stir trouble demonstrate that here. Asking for someone's name would stir trouble, if that is the case.

When operating under the old rules it was only the traditionals that could debate in their forum. There was no restriction on others asking them questions. As questions are not really a forum of debate I see no reason to act as if they should be banned. But as we have set up a system where the main SDA forum will allow non-christians as well as non Adventists to ask questions people need to learn how not to over react to questions. Whatever you may think of their reasons for asking a question is quite irrelevant...at least until someone proves that they are over 90% accurate in their long distance mind reading capabilities.

The person sentipente is referring to is me in case you want to check out my posts before they all disappear.

I just happened to be in that forum and the question was posed about baptism and I felt comfortable trying to share what I believe and some Bible texts regarding the matter.

I can't say that I am sorry because I am not. I don't feel as if there was any antagonism going on but that is my opinion.

sentipente if you feel like you need to report me to the Mods go ahead. What I shared with you and others in that thread was from the Bible - you maybe able to delete me but you can't delete the Bible it will always be here.
