Interesting read for some maybe

In case i get blasted im not trying to say "this book is in the same category as the bible!" or something, im just saying this is some text that isnt in the main bible that *seems* to be inline with creation week, fall of man+expulsion from the garden of eden. It blew me away when i first started reading it 3-4 days ago. Again im NOT saying "this is authority you must believe it!". If someone has a specific critique of it please say so.

8 And this sign, O Adam, will happen to Me at My coming on earth: Satan will raise the people of the Jews to put Me to death; and they will lay Me in a rock, and seal a large stone over Me, and I shall remain within that rock three days and three nights. ​

It's yet another extra-biblical writing that is interesting but of little significance. The canon of Scripture has a very important feature that I personally, believe marks it's essential credibility. The Scriptures have been a part of their requisite culture throughout their history. Christians embraced the Hebrew canon with only minor differences with regards to books of questionable authority. These books where never considered for inclusion and cannot be connected to any significant Christian doctrine.

Thanks for the link, I found the reading interesting and intriguing but ultimately, useless theologically. I don't mean to dismiss these writings categorically, I simply find them lacking in credible veracity with no bearing on redemptive history.

Just one example, there are a number of others:

3 And when a man washes himself in it, he becomes clean of the cleanness thereof, and white of its whiteness -- even if he were dark.​

All I can say to that is, What!? To read on tells of repentance and washing yourself in the see etc. This has no bearing on the Levitical system of atonement and certainly has no bearing on the Gospel.
