  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

If I have to be honest - I don't mind Sarah Palin. I think that you have to be incredibly brave to be a Christian and going into politics. It's impossible to keep your integrity in it, unless you are aiming to fail. Although I really had no idea she was this bad in an interview. There are some very terrible howlers in them. It's obvious the journo has worked out how to make a mockery of her, but Palin doesn't make sense even when she's on safe ground.

This is not very respectful, but imagine if McCain wins and then dies in office...She really had no idea what "Nation building" was, did she?

I do have a problem with people, say James Dobson, saying she is the answer to people's prayers. I find that highly irresponsible coming from a Christian leader (not one I follow, I might add).

Also the comments on the page...I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

It annoys me she was mainly put on the ticket for the "Evangelical vote"...is that really the level of intelligence they place on the Christians in the States?

One's mind boggles.

Are you kidding? In the USA being a Christian is basically a prerequisit to go into politics. Though admitedly you could say they just have to claim you are Christian, however most probably are telling the truth.

Scary isn't it, how could anyone vote for her or someone who thinks they make a good running mate? No matter what you think about her as a person she obviously has no idea what she is doing or talking about.

Unfortunately yes, or to be more accurate conservative right wing Christians, other types seem to be seen with a better reputation. From what I've seen from the USA the conservative religious right has worked hard for its bad reputation too, some of the stuff they say, do & support really makes you wonder....

I know that, it's the same here too, but I wasn't talking about it from a politics perspective, I was talking from a faith perspective. I don't think there is one Christian politician - Howard, Rudd, Palin, Bush, whatever, that's acted completely according to the convictions of their faith. It's not against the Christian faith to be in politics...but yeah, I don't think anyones been able to do it "in a Christian way". How can any Christian go through a campaign process and not lie? It's impossible.

From what I've heard of her power hungryness and nastiness in office.......she is not a good christian role model.

Yes, you can forgive etc etc like we do all people.....but she trades off being a christian. She wears Jesus like a badge to get ahead.

Maybe it's because I've met a lot of women like her...but she is a dragon lady that hides behind that pretty smile.

Matthew 7:15
Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.

She's not a prophet but she definately is false.

Does she honestly think she is ready to be in this top job? or is her ambition so great that it blinds her?

I'm kinda sick of Christians that get led around by this BullSh**.

Christians should be happy to have a seperation of religion and state. These middle class christians put so much energy into their conservative politics that they have created a psuedo-christianity.

Is that the Katie Couric one? It's funny...almost as funny as the skit SNL did of it :p

Sarah Palin...the mayor who wanted to start billing women for the cost of a Rape Kit and other collection of evidence to build a case against the rapist.

No other victims of crime. Just rape victims.

Trust me, if McCain is elected and Palin is in as his 2IC, women's rights in the US will travel back in time 50 years (at least) just watch.

It is. And it is hilarious. Tigercub I think you should replace slinkies with Sarah in your quote.

Who's worst though...Sarah, or the people using Sarah? Is it possible in a deluded way she actually believes she's ready for the job and has the credentials? I can't understand why anyone would do what she is doing unless they actually did believe they are ready for the Vice-Presidency.

In conclusion, I greatly dislike what I term as "Brainwashed Christianity"
