  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Interesting discovery?

Wow that is the first I have heard of that in three years. Last time I heard just a short news report about a large nest found in the jungle that was not typical for any known species of great ape.

However this is kind of frightening
"One of my trackers made the sound of a duiker, a small antelope, as if it were in pain," said Williams. Four or five of the mystery primates fell for the ruse and came running to kill it.

All the other great apes are relatively harmless to humans, even the carnivorous chimpanzees. Thankfully since Orangutans and Gorillas are much much stronger than humans. However these animals look to be as large if not larger than gorillas and carnivorous. @__@
Congo flashbacks anyone?

Possible hybrid, I don't think God has limited interbreeding among animals of their own species, as evidenced by donkeys.

Interbreeding most often results in sterility of the offspring (like 99.99% of the time). Mules mating with mules don't make more mules.

Could just be a deformed skull, who knows.

It could be, but reportedly these things have been reported multiple times and they are a part of the "local lore". Too many coincidences to believe that this one skull is an abnormality.

But like the bible, if it wasn't caught on film, then whos to say it's truth that these apes were seen with offspring? ;)

Did you read the article? It was caught on film. :)

nyj: Since they only have the one skull, whos to prove that the skull in question is breeding, successfully?

See above. :)

Oh, well could be CGI. ;)

Could be. I also heard that the US lunar landings were fabricated in a giant cinematic studio in Arizona. :p

It is interesting that there is possibly a new species, or a "newfound" species.

I agree.

They discover new species of animals all the time...

Sure they do, but not non-human primates. To date, this would raise the number of non-human primate species to five (bonobo, chimpanzee, gorilla and orangutan being the others). That's a significant discovery.
