Hello...my goal is to get a better understanding on Salvation and works.
My first understanding was that if you believed on Jesus you were saved. Then I read that believe didn't really mean a mental..process but to trust......and that trust had some type of natural obedience to go with it....
But where I stand is that initial salvation is to believe the gospel..
Next..I kept hearing you don't have to do anything to be saved..as in works..and one would quote...that it's not by any works of righteousness we have done....yet as I've been listening to Willard...He says salvation is opposed to earning but not to effort...yet he goes on to explain salvation now as opposes to future...and that it means deliverence.
I can see deliverance but as long as you remain in the one that delivers....or rather by meaning of remains..to put trust in...
Yet maybe my lack of understanding is based on....that I continually need to put trust in him....so I'm looking for some serious believers that live the faith to expound on these thoughts....
So what does it take to be delivered from future wrath?.....believing the gospel? Living the gospel? Living the gospel as a natural response to belief? ......and as a Christian have you ever doubted your future deliverence? And if you did was it because you were not obeying God...or living according to your call of righteousness?......
That's all for now.....
