  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hi there folks!

Andy

Try Mranda IM (http://www.miranda-im.org/). I use it all the time and it works great. I can chat with friends who have MSN, ICQ and AOL. You can also add other protocols with plugins. The best thing about this program is that you don't need to install it on every computer to use it. I installed it on my own computer, then copied it on a USB memory pen and now I can use it on every computer with internet access.

Trillian=bloatware. plus, with a free program, it's not updated as often as the Pro version. Just a while ago, there was someone posting here who used Trillian, but couldn't receive images, but can send it. I used it for a year, but decided that 3 seperate clients don't take up room as much as Trillian does.

to each his/her own, I guess. ;)

The only one I use now is Yahoo. I've tried the others in the past and just didn't like them as well. My husband prefers ICQ.

Hmm, that is the first person to prefer it that I've heard. I've just found that viruses get passed very easily through it. I mean, like on MSN messenger you can add people you meet online (do it safely of course), but you can add them without fear of viruses, worms, etc. Well ICQ, I am very fearful of viruses with. I'm not totally sure how they get in, but they do. I've gone back to MSN in the last few months, cuz I was running anti-virus to much.

I believe he has his ICQ set up where only people on his list can contact him. He uses it to keep in touch with his gaming pals.
