• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

One word: DREAMS.

I'm telling you, it's the cheapest way to get book-ideas anywhere. You don't have to spend money to fill up the car, drive to the diner, buy a coffee and just look out the window like some writers, hoping a story-idea will pass them by or be sitting right next to them ordering a mocha-latte...

...just grab an empty notebook, a pencil, and set it beside your bed every night. If a dream pops into your head, just jump up (you have to get into a certain groove of waking up, but it can be done, I tell you:eek: :D !), and write that baby down on the paper before it vanishes completely...

It may just look like a bunch of mumbo-jumbo come morning when you're reading them over a bowl of Cheerios, but believe me when I say, it's 70% of how I get my ideas, and most of my stories have been based on one or more dreams. God makes us have them for a reason. Joseph had them, and look how they helped him.;)

Anyway, hope that helped. God bless you in everything you do, especially you're writing!

Yes, dreams are good, at night while i am waiting for sleep pictures will pop into my head. Pictures that just come out of no where can really inspire and get a book or other writing projects started. And if you just start writing off of a word or phrase you could be surprised how far that takes you.....

I usually don't have the most exciting dreams...but I do have one story almost entirely based off a dream...look in my sig. ^_^

The best way to get ideas is to keep half your brain looking for them. The best ones always come along when you least expect them...like in dreams. I do come up with more of them while I'm awake though...

NEVER ask me to explain where each idea for my story comes from. Some of them I can explain, and many of them I could have at one point...but not anymore ^_^
