Inspiration when writing

As writers, our inspiration is a huge contribution to any masterpiece! What inspires you?

I live in the country and I walk my dog once every two hours(he's an energetic breed and plus, it is relaxing for me as well). Colby, like the cheese. He's my adventure dog. At least once every other day we see something cool: deer, ducks, beavers, snakes, falcons, etc. And in southern New York, the country is beautiful. Green hills, lush forests. Sometimes the sun coming through the trees, it looks like an enchanted place. Other times, the gloom and light mixing through the trees looks like an ancient, mysterious place. It inspires a certain feeling inside that helps me write.

Reading also feeds my inspiration. I read fiction almost exclusively and fantasy tends to be what I fall into. Urban fantasy, high fantasy, horror fantasy, scifi fantasy, anything.

I chose other because my writing is greatly influenced by the Holy Spirit’s presence. He’s my sounding board and guide when I need direction. Sometimes I have an inexplicable urge to write and the outcome is wonderful. I attribute my creativity wholly to Him.

But on the practical side, I enjoy comfortable settings. A desk stationed near a window with a wonderful view. Or nestled in bed under a down comforter with the warmth of the fireplace keeping me cozy. That’s my inner Edith Wharton.

I voted "other", because I haven't really been writing consistently.

I hope I will once I have some more stability in my life. For now, I am accumulating some good material through pretty edgy (some would say crazy) experience.

Then again, my writings have always kinda manifested through volatility, which is probably why I haven't got down to writing the sort of story I've always wanted to.
