Hey guys my name is Rebecca. I'm new here so I'm posting around.

I wasn't sure which area to put this in. Hopefully this is it.

I have a very defined pear shape. Alot of people consider me shapely since I have a flat stomach to go along with my lowrl half. However, I hate my lower half and just want to slim it a bit.

It also attracts unwanted attention which is another reason I want to get rid of it.

Are there anyways to slim my lower half?

Can I change my genetics?

If it's fat, that's easy, diet and cardio exercise will take care of it.

But if it's muscle, it would be in your best interest to keep it - it will serve you well in older age, trust me.

Ironically, I also have a curvier-than-average lower half, but it's all muscle. I was a cyclist during my teenage years and the exercises I did to improve my lower body strength and endurance also enlarged my lower half. It's also a factor of genetics for me.

I do attract attention as well. Just ignore it. It's not really your fault. If it bothers you too much just wear something loose. Same thing I do. I never wear body-fit clothes.

If your shape is defined by your personal skeletal structure alone, then there's nothing you can do about it short of, ahem, surgery elsewhere to balance things out visually. (Basically it's real-life trompe l'oeil.) I believe that's what several celebrities with your body type did. But I'm certain you already know this.

If it's defined by your skeletal structure and by overlaid muscle and fat, or only by overlaid muscle and fat, then there's definitely something you can do about it: cut off the TV, drop the Netflix subscription, exercise hard and do it daily, walk past the pasta section at the supermarket... you know, all the usual stuff.

When it comes to attractiveness, you might want to ask yourself what part(s) of you you want to be magnetic to the opposite sex: the visible ones, or the invisible ones. Me, I always go for the invisible ones. They're a lot more powerful and they run a lot deeper.

Unfortunately, science has not found a safe, reliable, affordable way to change the genetics of a living adult. The best you can aim for and hope for is being fit and healthy, and hoping somebody worthwhile will like that.

Actually, focus on being healthy and liking your body as it is. If you have weight to lose, exercise and controlled calories can help but it won't change the overall body shape. A pear shape with a good BMI is really supposed to be the healthiest body for a woman.

Welcome to CF Singles!

Probably not what you want to hear, but plenty of women would love to have your combination of pear shape with a flat stomach.

It also attracts unwanted attention which is another reason I want to get rid of it.
In what way? Do guys shout at you in the street?

Are there anyways to slim my lower half?

Can I change my genetics?
It's mostly genetics, and you can't change those. If you have large hips then working out and diet can sculpt what you have a little bit one way or the other, but you can't make major changes. Most people, even so-called super-models, have something about their body they don't like. The key to happiness is to make the most of what you have, and accept the body God gave you. Pray to Him for help with this.

Also, have you tried researching the best way to dress so that you feel most comfortable with the figure God gave you? Different ways of dressing can have quite a dramatic impact on the way your figure appears to yourself and others.
