CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Information, though in one sense is produced, can also be a reason for an action or condition, or something that brings about a specified effect or a result. Information is also defined as something communicated through some form of symbolic language, or communicated through laws and principles that have the power to govern.
DNA is a code that contains information. DNA molecules in part make up the structures we call chromosomes. All the information for an entire organism, contained in the chromosomes, is called the genome. Information in the genome directs (by mechanistic/biochemical processes) the physical construction of all we are bodily. But what is the cause of life's information? Clearly it is instructive.
What is called an “efficient cause” is that by which something comes to be. The “instrumental cause” is that through which it comes to be. And the “material cause” is that out of which it is made.
Consider a Rembrandt, the use if the brush is only the instrumental cause, the paint and canvas the materials involved, but the artist is the efficient cause. When we think of DNA, in biology we only find ourselves focusing on the material and instrumental causes, but never the efficient cause of the information present. Biologists often explain the results of genetic information in terms of the material and instrumental causes, but dismiss or ignore the plausible efficient causes. But this or these must also exist or the DNA would not be.
It is the information in the DNA that makes the components of cell, tissue, organs and so on (by making various functional proteins), information which works the plan present and embodied in the embryo's genome. DNA dictates how each unique organism will be assembled and function.
In his Information And The Origin Of Life (1990) Bernd-Olaf Kuppers says, "The problem of the origin of life is clearly basically equivalent to the problem of the origin of biological information." While Hubert P. Yockey in the Journal Of Theoretical Biology, reveals, "The sequence hypothesis applies directly to the protein and the genetic text as well as to written language and therefore the treatment is mathematically identical." Thus the existence of this information, its structure, and transmission can be expressed not only in terms of passing along a message with a purpose, but also can be characterized in terms of requiring a source. Matter/Energy does not (in fact cannot) produce encoded instruction on its own.

Fascinating (in its own way), but completely divorced from what I wrote.
The first spot on the video that I jumped to had a such a basic, fundamental error within the first few minutes of watching that it turned me off watching the rest.
DNA is a code in the way atomic make-up is a code.

Your response made no sense because you failed to watch the whole presentation. It would be like me claiming to understand Dawkins doctrine by only viewing his comments on panspermia. Therefore you demonstrated to not know what you are talking about, thus giving an opinion not based on all the data given in making his point, and NO, DNA as a code is nothing like the way "atomic make-up" is a code.
Atomic make-up is not instructive in what will be, it is constructive. It does not determine one or more pre-specified ends (like a lung as opposed to gills).
