  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Men, how would you feel if you had a girlfriend who reveled to you that she was infertile? I ask this because My doctor thinks I may have endometriosis, which leaves women with a 50% chance of infertility (I believe).
Would you be okay marrying a woman knowing you couldn't have children with her? Would you break it off?

They think you might, so it isn't for real just yet. Would it be still possible for you to still have children if you freeze your eggs now?

I dont know.. I haven't considered that option. Maybe I will if I get an absolute diagnosis.

As much as I would love to have my own kids, it wouldn't impact how I felt about her. I'm pro-adoption as there are thousands of kids out there who need loving parents so we would pray about that.

Really? Why is that? (If you care to share)

I don't mind sharing, it's just not a simple answer lol. Basically, it comes down to a lot of "what's the point?"-type questions. Also feeling like it's no longer a good time to subject my own flesh and blood to this world. I started feeling this way around 25. I don't want to "follow the formula" in life... I'd have to know for sure that God wants me to have kids.

If she could not physically have children, I would not consider that to be a dealbreaker. There's always adoption for when we are ready for kids. Endometriosis does have some other consequences which I am not sure about, I would honestly wonder how that would affect the sex life that my wife and I would have, if I were to marry someone who has that.

I never really looked into that aspect of it.
I could see how that may hurt some women, but I don't know about all of that.

I have a female friend who has it. From the sound of it, she may well have a more severe case. (She was lacking in tact when she informed me, please do not make the same mistake yourself. We don't need to hear further details).

Just continue to bear in mind that your condition does not always result in infertility. You have just as much of a chance of being perfectly fertile as you do infertile. Doctors like to scare by always dropping those 'worst case scenarios' in patients ears. Do your own research on endometriosis...find out all the facts you can about it. Perhaps even visit different a doctor for a second opinion.
