I'm VERY late jumping into the trilogy, and from what I hear, the first one's best (as always obviously), so I bought the DVD.

Since it's a cop vs. triads type of movie, I know it's violent, but to what extent? And how many scenes have gangsters in seedy bars, etc?
LOL, just to know, like if my parents want to watch and so do I say "go away!" or "okay, whatever."

Nevermind. The ONLY problem with watching the movie with my folks is that I'd embarrass myself: by bawling my eyes out.

I watched it just now on the computer (while I was supposed to be working on a research assignment. )
Anyway, I'm too emotionally drained to repeat a viewing. Cried like mad throughout the entire movie, more than the times I cringed at the surprisingly rare scenes of violence, and even when the scenes occured, they weren't at all graphic.

I think it's my favourite film ever. Possibly. Possibly my favourite.
