Read acts 8:36-37
Whole chapter for context tell me what you see
Also still waiting for any of you to address acts 8
8:36-37
Verse 37, you should know, isn't found in every translation, because it isn't found in the early Greek manuscripts.
-CryptoLutheran
Very good now how do you discern a infant that will believe and a infant that will turn away from Christ? An autumn day, the plain extending on either side, a chariot driver half-dozing, two men poring over a roll.
Having reread the passage in question, the eunuch asked Philip whether the prophet was here speaking of himself or someone else. The teaching he had had didn't let him decide this point.
Philip could hardly have found a better text to expound his topic, for his subject was Jesus. Starting with the OT texts, he had a chance to show prophecy's fulfillment in Christ's case. He spoke also of Christ's commission which he'd given to his disciples, “to teach all people groups, baptizing them in the name of God and of Jesus and of the Spirit."
While Philip was still picturing Jesus' glories, the chariot came near a pool which contained some water.
The eunuch points to the water and asks whether there would be anything in the way of his being baptized.
Philip replied that his wish may be granted if he believes.
The eunuch confesses "I trust that Christ's God's Son." A formula amounting to a confession in God.
The officer then halted the chariot, and both Philip and the eunuch went down to the water, where the latter was baptized, the method not being indicated.
When the baptism was complete, God, the Spirit, did a miracle by removing Philip from the eunich's side and out of his sight.
However, the eunich had heard the facts which enabled him to compare the OT with the New, and so he joyfully went his way.
Not so. But if you list the ones who did it, that would settle this disagreement. Just identify the posts in which what you say here appears. I will then show you how it was misunderstood. I have to say also that I am not putting this totally on you; I have already looked by myself and do not find what you are telling me has been posted.
EVEN THEN, however, it is a mistake no matter who says it! That is NOT the view of the matter held by the churches that baptize the young.

How do you discern an adult who makes a confession of faith, is baptized, and then turns away from Christ? That is not at all uncommon.Very good now how do you discern a infant that will believe and a infant that will turn away from Christ?
So Phillip asks a question and then it jumps to 38 till the end of the chapter at 40?
"Finally?" I've said as much a number of time on CF going back to the time I first joined.
Children choose their parents now?

I have conceded that a few people here have posted those two words, which could mean several different things, but they are speaking only for themselves, just as there are some people somewhere who are mistaken about just about any doctrine that Christians hold to.OK, so you keep claiming that nobody says that "Baptism Saves" Like in the post above (post #207 and, among others post # 210)
Not the question how do YOU decern between infants
How do you discern an adult who makes a confession of faith, is baptized, and then turns away from Christ? That is not at all uncommon.
Not my job to judge. God is the judge. God knows who God has predestined for glory.

There is no church that I know of that agrees with them, so you either get to insist that several unexplained posts online have the secret to understanding baptism...or go with the Bible, most of Christian history, theologians and linguists, both Protestant and Catholic church bodies/denomiantions, and the majority of Christians worldwide.
One thing is certain. The several people here who are determined to have baptism not be open to children are off-topic. The original question asked why Christians believe in the practice, not why a minority does not. Now the answer has been given--several times over.
Do you rebaptize when they get old enough to confess faith?
37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
According to your doctrine ishould say not if you have personally
I don't of any good reason why anyone should be rebaptized.
