Infant Baptism.

The blessing of the salt was not used in my children's Baptisms, although I think it was used in my husband's. Anyway, we just had an infant Baptism last Sunday at Mass, and no salt was used. Not sure why.

Blessed salt was not used in the Baptism of my three children nor in my husband's. I do know that it was used in mine from years ago since I'm still reminded that I never stopped crying UNTIL the priest put salt on my tongue! I too don't know why the salt during Baptisms was stopped.

I also knew that salt used to be an ingredient of Holy Water. Don't know if it is now.

I've heard that the speaker, Fr. Corapi has indicated that blessed salt is a Sacramental and has never hinted that it isn't any longer.
