  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

US-Others
This has nothing to do with Democrats or Republicans, I am British looking into the US from the outside so my opinion counts for nothing.

I could list all the problems with the US health system but perhaps I should let others more qualified do it, please take a look at a few of these,
you may have seen them before but perhaps you haven't.
They might just tell you something you didn't already know, these are just a few of hundreds on youtube.

America is self-destructing in many ways, as are many other nations. Healthcare is just one of them. (Health/Care is the way the term should be presented.)

Long before socialism took hold in this country people took care of each other. The churches did a lot. Neighbors did a lot. Family did a lot. They knew they were dependent on each other if things went wrong and they took care of each other. When a couple got married everyone got together and helped them build their house and barn. Basically the community set the newly weds up in business. It was a lot like what the Amish still practice, and they still practice these things because they have rejected where society has gone, what society has become. They were, and are, far wiser than our society.

And that may well work in small communities where the wealthy and the poor have eye to eye relationships with one another. It doesn't work at all when the middle class moves to the suburbs and wealthy to their estates, leaving the poor segregated in impoverished neighborhoods. But as it is, out of sight, out of mind.

It's not the job of government to play the role of 'equalizer' of economic injustice.

It is not the job of government to create war or other policies that profit the wealthy elites.
