• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

where can I find that tea and is it expinsive?
If you have either a "natural" grocery store- like Whole Foods or Wild Oats or Trader Joe's- you can get it there. Or if you have a conventional grocery store which has a good selection of organics, etc.

It's not vey expensive- it is also phenomenal to take after baby, too to help your uterus then, too :) Plus it tastes good!

I was induced with gel. It was given at 10:00am doctor came back around at 4:00pm and tried to break my waters - with no luck (although I now believe he was successful I just didn't get a "gush" of fluid)

Contractions started at 4:45pm... They were strong and close together - I seemed to be coming straight out of one and and into the next.

I had pethidine at 5:00pm... seemed to take no effect although I was impatient and I requested an epidural

Epidural was given at 5:15pm... shortly there after the pethidine kicked in and I slept solidly from 5:30 to 8:30pm...

I drifted in and out of the most beautiful sleep I have had between 8:30pm and 4:00am the next morning..

The midwives woke me at 4:00am and told me to start pushing!! ... my son was born at 5:33am

I could not have lasted 12 hours of the contractions without some pain relief... they were too strong. I have also heard since then that its best to get the epidural done earlier in the piece becauase of the dangers of having it done... - you need to remain perfectly still - and this can be difficult when you have contractions that are painful and generally easier to do as soon as you realise you are having difficulties.

Overall I quite liked the combination of the pethidine and epidural :D great way to go

and when I had Robert I do remember not really feeling the contractions until it was time t push... or very close to that time... that was one of the reasons I was askingabout the tightening... but it has stopped, so I guess it was braxton hicks. got to go a few places today to get a few more things before tomorrow... hopefully all will go well tomorrow

Induced labors often yield a lot of back labor, because baby is posterior at the onset of labor. Often labor really quickens when baby swivels into an anterior position exerting optimal pressure on the cervix.

In my case I think back labour is just how I labour because Kate wasn't posterior.

pethidine is a pain killer medication that can be given by injection or iv drip... its a bit like morphine only not as strong

I am not sure about over in USA but here in Australia it is quite common that women are offered that for pain relief.

One of the side effects is it can make you drowsy... which once I had the epidural it did for me for almost the entire 12hours until it was time to push.... - essentially I slept for the first two stages of labour :D

Pethadine, isn;t that also the 'truth' drug? coujld be dangerous in labour LOL. I had Pethadine when I had a colonoscopy, just made me really stoned and woozy, would hate that in labour personally.

http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qn4158/is_19970304/ai_n14091632 all about Pethidine

I was given Morphine as they told me the baby wasn't comign that night and I should get some sleep. Did NOTHING for the pain and just made me delirious for about 45 mins... hideous, never again.
