A couple of weeks ago,
hubby and I were able to visit
the Flight 93 Memorial.
Here is one of the things that
another visitor had left.

Hubby and I had been there in 2002, and were wondering what changes had been made.

The fencing for the memorial wall is still there. People from all over the world have placed items on this wall, or at the base of it.

We saw many new additions of monumental stones in place. Most of which were donated by various motorcycle clubs.

Another new addition is the presence of park benches. I'm not sure who had them made and donated, but they are beautiful. Each one has two names of the people who perished on that flight.

My niece-in-law was in the world trade center when the first plane hit...........she had dressed up that day for work and wore high heels and she was 5 months pregnant with a new dress........she had to run 4 blocks to her building in her high heels and when she got home to New Jersey they sprayed her down with the fire hoses.
Thank God she was fine and my nephew was fine too, he had called into work sick that day!!!

It is hard to continue reading this thread for crying. The magnitude and horror and shock are as fresh today as then it seems. Never again God, please, please, please.
That is my prayer also!

I know it is hard mizangelwolf!
We need to remember together and to share our grief.
Even if for a moment, because I know this is harder for some than for others.
So sad
God bless you!

I'm so glad your niece and nephew are alright, Karen. That must have been very scary for you until you knew they were OK.

Amen, Miz... I've been praying most of the day here as well.

I thought I had posted this earlier yesterday, but there were some forum issues, so it doesn't seem to have shown up. Please excuse this if it's repeated.

I live in New England and the planes that hit the two towers were from Boston. A lady from the church I was attending at the time was on one of the planes. It's a large church, and I didn't know her but it was still so odd to have it hit so close to home.

There is also a park 5 minutes from my home with a memorial to people from my town who died.

I remember watching the Winter Olympics the following winter and the tribute to 9/11....large banners of cloth pulled upwards with the names projected on them.....and suddenly the banners fell!

Very dramatic and powerful tribute.

I think if everyone got in touch with everyone we knew in our lives we would all know, or know someone who was affected by 9/11. It truly is a small world. I'm sorry that you live so close to where it happened and lost members of your community. That must have been very hard...

My Help Comes From You
Words & Music by
Jennifer M. Seest -- © May 2001

My heart broke when I first heard,
My eyes filled with countless tears.
I knew the effect of this
Would last many years.
Yet, certain that God can heal
Our broken hearts, broken lives.
I pray that you cling to Him.
Through Him, you'll survive!

I lift my eyes to the hills
From whence comes my help!
My help comes from You, my God!
My help comes from You!
Though I go through fiery trials,
I'll trust in the LORD!
My help comes from You, my God!
My help comes from You!

Now leaning upon His strength
Though passing through waters deep,
We'll face the trail as You lead,
However steep.
Yet, certain that God can heal
Our broken hearts, broken lives,
I pray that you cling to Him;
Through Him, you'll survive!

Lift up your eyes to the hills
From whence comes our help!
Our help comes from You, O God!
Our help comes from You!
Though passing through fiery trials,
Still trust in the LORD!
Our help comes from You, O God!
Our help comes from You!
