It seems like many religions do not honor women. In many religions women are just seen as caretakers of the home, and a vessel to carry children. I am not saying that these are not good things, but women should be able to be more than just that if they want. It confuses me how Eve brought sin into the world, and from there women have been seen as evil or less than a man. Yet, even though women were seen as evil God chose a woman to carry his son? A sinner in fact, because no human has ever been sinless. Yes, Mary was a virgin, but she still was a sinner, and it is not like she stayed a virgin, she had sex afterward. So how could a sinless being be born from a sinner ? Why do women have to be property of men ? What if you do not want to have kids ? Should a woman be forced to do so? Does a woman really only exist to serve her husband and nothing else. What is wrong with having a healthy sexuality? If God created sex and it is supposed to be such a great thing, then why could Jesus not marry ?

God created everyone equal. In a marriage a man and a woman are equal - the only difference is the role they play in that marriage. My husband doesn't own me but I'm accountable to God to be a decent wife. Marriage symbolizes the relationship between Christ and the Bride of Christ - they compliment each other.

Spiritually when the bible mentions how the man is ahead of the household - he is suppose to be the spiritual leader. If he fails this, he will be much more accountable to God for this than if the woman fails - even though they both will be accountable if they fail to raise their children correctly.

Not in my case, but in cases where a husband isn't saved and trys to make his wife do things that arn't godly - the wife is accountable to God first always.

Yes, unfortunately there are cultures who think their wifes are slaves and property. This isn't of God but the sins of this world. Remember in the gospels when Jesus used women? My guess is - that more women weren't used quantity wise because of the mentality of the culture and that a man is suppose to be the spiritual leader in a family. What I mean by mentality of the culture is - even back then - legally three women had to be a witness to have any credibility - where one man was enough. No this isn't fair - but again the sins of mankind cause this.

I've heard these thing being taught as well from different forms of christian belief systems. You have to realize though just because things are taught doesn't mean the principles are from God or a true representation from scripture.. Without the Holy Spirit to guide you it is easy to fall into a false system of belief.. Nowhere does it say in scripture that a woman is the property of a man, nor should a woman have a child if only the man wants one. Also the role of a Godly wife is not limited to servicing her husband... There are alot of scriptures that have been twisted 1Co.7 comes to mind as a popular one that places a woman under the foot of her husband, but again these are not what the complete scriptures references, nor are these teachings endorsed by God.

If God created sex and it is supposed to be such a great thing, then why could Jesus not marry ?
Who says he didn't?

We don't have scripture that directly tells us one way or another about Jesus's martial status.. In all likely hood he did not marry, but it was not outside the realm of possibility.

A good measure to determine if a principle is of a toxic religious nature or a benign traditional belief, is if the non scripturally documented principle or belief is reveled to be untrue or unproven and it shakes your faith or understanding of God.. In other words if in this example if the fact the Jesus could be married damages your faith, then it can be said that your faith is in a belief structure or (Religion) and not of God himself.

If this is the case I recommend focusing on a relationship with the Holy Spirit First, then worry about trying to rightly divide scripture. How do you do that? Lk.11:5 forward tells us.

Where did you get all of your insight from. How could I be a more freethinking Christian like you, if I wanted to come back to God? If I tried to join a church with some of the things I believe I would not be accepted. It is hard to find a Christian church of freethinkers.

This is not my insight, it belongs to the Holy Spirit.. He who dwells in me is available to you in one form or another... That's why I keep telling you to ask seek and knock on Heavens door for the "gift" of the Holy Spirit. I was like you in alot of ways. I found direction because I wanted to simply Love God as he commands us to, and two I wanted to do it how he would have me to, even if it meant turning my back of everything and everyone I ever knew or loved.

God took me up on my offer, and I had to go through hell on earth to break me of my callous heart, and preconceived notions on how to worship and what I believed. But afterwards He fill this empty vessel with whatever I have now.. And know all that I am is still flawed and prone to error and mistake, but the difference is my "faith" isn't based on how I interpret or divide scripture.. My Relationship is based on love, and with love their is forgiveness. So when I am corrected then My faith becomes stronger. primarily because I don't have to be "right" in order for what I have with God to work.

With that said what I do have is not my own, and what you perceived to be "free thought" is in fact a shadow of God will for us. Because everything I have written to you in these last posts can be found in scripture. I just took the liberty to put things in my own words. Again true understand of scripture can only be done through the Holy Spirit.

If I tried to join a church with some of the things I believe I would not be accepted.

The whole "church" experience is not completely about you.. Remember what we are there for, that is to praise and worship God, then helping our neighbor, and finally helping ourselves. And after all that has been accomplished then I'd look for acceptance and fellowship.. If you want to go somewhere just to be excepted, then Join a social club like the 4-h, lions, or rotary club.. Real Church is a place where like minded people (People who love Jesus) can go and sing, pray, and worship together.. The social stuff will happen just because we are by nature a social people, But if we are their to be loved and excepted by our peers then we are there for the wrong reason.

I do understand what you are saying, and I have a similarly hard time finding people to relate to, but again it's not about me. If you go to church for the "Jesus" then any Jesus Christ centered church, will be what you are looking for.

It is hard to find a Christian church of freethinkers.
There is probably some Devinne providence behind that.. I think if there were whole churches of what you call free thinkers out there then places like this would suffer.. "we" would be just like everyone else or every other denomination.. There wouldn't be much of a reason for us to seek out people like you who need direction if all of our spiritual and worship needs were being met.

Also being some what isolated from truly like minded people forces us to ask, seek, and knock or "think" alittle more than those who are handed answers to questions they haven't even asked yet at a weekly bible study..

If you look at the history of the Church the true Church it has always thrived when "leadership" and man's influence was at minimum levels, and the darkest times have always been during the Reigns of "Mega" churches.

You have an opportunity facing you to know God as he would have you know him. But! you will have to not only be willing to put down "traditional" forms of worship, you have to put down your Ideas of worship as well.. There will be times where you get to "rebuke" others for religious behavior, and there will be times where you have to let go your version of religious behavior when confronted as well. Remember it's not about being right.. It's about being loved, and expressing our love for Him.

What you have said makes a lot of sense.

Hi everyone!! :) I found more quotes that all of us can enjoy! :)

“Sure God created man before woman, but then again you always make a rough draft before creating the final masterpiece.”

“When I think of talking, it is of course with a woman. For talking at its best being an inspiration, it wants a corresponding divine quality of receptiveness, and where will you find this but in a woman?”

“Women always worry about the things that men forget; men always worry about the things women remember.”

“Male and female represent the two sides of the great radical dualism. But in fact they are perpetually passing into one another. Fluid hardens to solid, solid rushes to fluid. There is no wholly masculine man, no purely feminine woman.”

“Women marry men hoping they will change. Men marry women hoping they will not. So each is inevitably disappointed.”

“When a man gets up to speak, people listen, then look. When a woman gets up, people look; then, if they like what they see, they listen.”
