CLOSE YOU EYES March 3, 2003

Dad, today is a day of mixed emotions,
For we are bringing you home for the final time.
You can close your eyes and rest in peace,
As we let you go to life divine.
You have touched our hearts and lives,
With a heart full of joy and love.
You have touched more lives than you know,
And it is time to recieve your rewards in Heaven above.
We will miss you, Dad, all the days of our lives,
But we will take comfort in knowing where you will be.
And we will be thankful in knowing,
That from the pain and suffering, you will be free.
You have fought the good fight with all of your being,
But now the fight is over and victory is won.
Close your eyes, Dad, and let sleep come,
And we will be at your side until God's will is done.
We will hold your hand and serve your needs,
As both tears of sorrow and joy roll down our cheeks.
It won't be easy but we wouldn't have it any other way,
And for God's loving comfort we will seek.
We love you, Dad, and will miss you dearly,
But soon we will be united on the other side.
Close your eyes, Dad, and look with your heart,
For here comes the angels and to your new home they will guide.

I am sorry about your dad. Your dad died on the day my son was born. My dad passed away on 4/27/03 of cancer. It took me two years to really get over it. My father held my son only once, and I got a picture of it. My son has his sense of humor. I'm not for sure if my dad was saved or not. I pray to God that he was. I still think about him everyday and miss him dearly. If there is anything I can help with, let me know. God Bless.

i Know how you feel about losing a parent.I lost my Mother 7 years ago this October and i miss her dearly everyday .

Thank you all for your kind words. I have worked through most of the grieving process. Being there when my dad passed helped me to work through it. I guess in a way it brought closure because I knew I did everything in my power that I could do. I do still miss him though and that is a loss I will have to live with the rest of my life. But rejoice!!!! I will see him again as we are both chritians. I take comfort in that. Thank You ALL and God Bless ALL of You!!

its hard i know cause not only have i lost my mother i have also lost two babies also one was a miscarriage and the other was an ectopic pregnancy
