Last Monday it was raining where i lived, but the sky was this dark, but clear blue color-you could see the very fluffy clouds rolling by and it was just so beautiful. Me any my sister were emptying the trash and suddenly we just stopped and looked up at the sky and we were overwhelmed with just how beautiful the world really is when it rains. We tilted our heads up to the sky and allowed the rain to fall on our faces and hair, we must have stayed out there for an hour or so and we were soaked by the time we came inside the house, but i didn't care. I'm such a sentimental person and when i was young, my mom always pointed out to me the beautiful parts of nature, making sure i realized just how beautiful God made the Earth, and i guess looking up at the Heavens as it rained made me feel closer to Him. Have you ever heard the saying that when it rains, God is crying? That isn't true: when it rains,God is sending a piece of Heaven down to Earth, it's the most marvelous feeling to close your eyes and breathe into the air of rain, and the next best thing is to open them and watch the clouds roll by until it appears that you'll float into the sky at any moment, or they appear so close you try and touch them......Sorry, i guess i get carried away sometimes, but for anyone who is usually not a fan of the rain, just try standing in it:without any noise, without any cars or stores around-just you, the rain, and God. Looking up at the sky, you can almost feel like you're watching him as he watches you. God Bless,

MissDay:)

I really enjoyed your quote. You mentioned about getting carried away.We need to do that more often. Just allow God to take full control of the situation. Even when it is when we are sharing our thoughts with others. One thing I also love about the rain....is that big ole symble of love....the rainbow. I remember as a kid going out and playing in the puddles. What fun. Thanks for sharing....have a good day.

I've lived in the Pacific Northwest for the last 16 years. When I first moved here I cursed the rain(seemed forever 'round these parts), but it didn't take long to realize the beauty in it. I had to move around the majority of my younger life(Montana, Wyoming, Texas, California) and I never appreciated the beauty of nature till I moved up here(well...a couple years after). It's amazing when you realize the effects of a wet climate and an absolutely beautiful experience when you decide to go ahead and play in it.

I really enjoy a good rain myself. I don't mind the thunderstorms either, as long as they don't do any damage, but even then, they are something to marvel at. There is such beauty in them, in the way the clouds roll over one another and the colors involved. Deep dark colors rolling over white, and then the flashes of lightning. Gorgeous.

I've never heard that about God crying when it rains. Huh. Well, he must be sad with Washington State then because it rains there all the time. I do love a good rain but am tired of it as I too lived in rainy conditions most of my childhood. It reminds me of being a kid really.

The same here, I think it's more the smell of rain that reconnects me to that memory of childhood.

I'd love to be in love with rain.

In fact, I'd love three or four inches of steadily falling rain.

In fact, I'd love to be in the situation where I was sick of rain and wanted it to stop for awhile.

(Today is the midpoint of summer in Texas, and for all intents and practical purposes it DOES NOT RAIN in Texas during the summer.)
