In His Resting Care

As I lay here pondering
What this day may bring,
I've come to realize
It's the uncertain things.
For times like this
I need to trust You Lord,
To see this day through
No matter what's in store.

Life is sometimes funny,
Is wonderful, mysterious too.
It makes our days so busy,
That needed rest, is overdue.
If only we can stop ourselves
At the beginning of each new day,
We just might hear, "Be still my child,
Come, meet with Me today."

We try to take vacations
And maybe weekend retreats.
Hoping this would help us
To break-up routine repeats.
And sometimes there is illness
That comes along the way,
It makes our flesh so weary
It could lead the spirit astray.

So whether I am sitting
Or laying down to rest,
I surrender all concerns to You
For You oh Lord know best.
And since today is unknown to me
I know oh Lord You're there,
For helping, guiding, healing me
With hands of resting care.
