In desperate need of prayer!

Hi,
I'm quite new here and I've been through a lot lately ranging from dwindling health and a nervous breakdown resulting in numbness/apathy/ocd/intrusive thoughts 24/7. It has completely destroyed my mind and I find myself hopeless and completely lost! I feel like a total shipwreck with a heart of stone. Please pray that God would awaken me and convict me once again so that I can find that genuine repentance through a broken and contrite spirit.

praying for you , i have OCD myself so i understand what you are going through my mind works like that too ,if you need someone to talk to am here , but please get professional help talk to you dr about how you are feeling you feel numb because you feel overwhelmed i feel like that too sometimes i got help
i want you to know that you are not weak mental health is something that isnt talked about but we need to , if you can retch out and see a dr and if your feeling overwhelmed call a crisis line Jesus loves you very much and he always will no matter what i will pray for you and i will have you in my heart , Jesus is holding you and he will never let Go Also Welcome to the forums

Be encouraged. The very fact that you're concerned about genuine repentance is a sign you really do have genuine repentance working in you. I'd like to give further comments but this is a prayer section but I do pray what Paul asked us to pray for one another that the eyes of your understanding may be enlightened to know what God would truly want you to know. Eph 1:18

Thanks for your prayers and concern Lily. I'm sorry to hear you're also suffering...It's good to know one's not alone with this kind of affliction. I do see a dr but he hasn't really been able to help me. Throughtout the years I've seen many doctors but to no avail unfortunately. You're right, being overwhelmed makes the numbness or dissociation worse...It's just so hard to get by when it's getting worse day by day...Thanks for your warm words and may the Lord help you as well in your struggle. I'll try and keep that in mind even though It feels impossible to come an understanding in this condition. It's like my mind has been taken over by demons. I pray that God would take away the numbness, apathy, ocd, and intrusive thoughts you are experiencing. That sounds like an awful lot to deal with. I also pray that God would help you to have the conviction, repentance, and humble spirit that you seek.

We have this idea about repentance, that it's like a recipe, a formula, it has to happen in a certain way and we have to feel certain feelings - with just the right intensity and tone - for it to be actual repentance. We want to turn it into a strange performance mixed with carefully crafted inner turmoil that we could then judge for ourselves (with our already confused, anxious and erroneous minds) if it's somehow good enough.

Brother/sister, whichever you are, if your mind is breaking from wanting to repent "right", not only are you repenting more than most but you're far too preoccupied with the whole concept to see that you're actually repenting already. Not only that, you are needlessly suffering over it.

Take a step back, breathe, and know that Christ has you.

It's not your fault you have OCD. God doesn't hold it against you. On the contrary, He has given you His Son. It is enough.

It's one thing for a person to suffer from religious anxiety and fear (not reverence but terror), which can already be tragic and I see it too much on these forums, but to pile intrusive mental health issues on top of that can be very burdening. I hope you get professional and peer support with it.
